Interviewed Oct 2011 in Portland, OR (took 1+ week)
I was contact by an Avis recruiter. I had one phone interview and a few days later had enough. Each one gave me the impression that the interviewer was in some sort of call-center. They responded to my questions with generic answers or flat-out told me they didn't know.
A week later, I went to the airport administration building for a one-on-one interview. I was suppose to be interviewed by the regional manager but he was on vacation. Got interviewed by one of the many managers instead.
Told me the job was mine as long as I passed a drug test and had a clean driving record. The rest, sadly, is history,

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Melbourne, FL (took 1 week)
I applied online through Career Builder. After a couple days, I received an email instructing me to call hte hotline. I called and the receptionist gave me a briefing about the position and asked a couple of HR questions. "We're looking for X personality. Tell me about a time when you dealt with team members..."
The next day, they sent me an online personality assessement that took at least 40 minutes. After complete, they ask you to call the hotline again.
The day after that, I was called with directions for the location of my interview. Conveniently, the Melbourne International Airport is but 8 minutes from my house.
The Hiring Manager was covering for the normal Manager, who supervises Orlando operations. Probably due to the holiday season, that person was all tied up. She took me behind the small 25 square foot counter area (I'd forgotten how little room RSA's have to maneuver) to a small office/back room. We began with formal greetings and concessions, and then I noticed her concentrating on rewriting my information from the application to her own questionaire sheets. She began by asking me why I'd recently left my last job. I explained that it was for professional development, seeking other better opportunities. (That works pretty well.) She asked me to give her an example of a situation where I least liked my job. She asked me what did I best appreciate about a job. She asked if I would feel badly about being assigned or having to do more work than other employees, whether by Manager choice or my own. She said, "Now for a fun one..." and to sell her something in the room. She asked me how I've dealt with a situation where the customer was unruly or aggresive. She asked me if there would have been anything that I would have said differently to someone/supervisor at a previous job. She asked me to use one word to describe myself...
Afterward, she did not really ask me if I had any questions of my own. She did say that I have to provide her with an actual social security card before she could continue with my training in Orlando. She also said that due to the upcoming holiday, the drug/background check may take a week. Afterwards, there would be training in Orlando.
Make eye contact. Be positive. DO NOT SPEAK NEGATIVELY about yourself or anyone else. Prove excellence in the 40 minutes you have with the interviewer. Inquire about when you'll know more about the process, but do not outright ask for the job.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 3 weeks)
First interview entailed a one on one with the divisional manager asked what are you like? Be prepared to sell something and overcome objections. Also be very outgoing. Second interview is more of just a personal interview why you want to work here what your like and so forth. Not to hard if you have had a sales position before than you should be familiar with the interview process. Make sure to ask questions if you don't ask for the job you don't deserve it, its a sales job so sell yourself and make sure you close the sale/interview. Peace hope that helps someone out.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 1 week)
In the interview, there was talk of previous jobs and dealing with customer. Since this position is sales, they also do a role play where you showcase your ability to sell. I showed a bit of personality, but I was very nervous. But, they were in the middle of recent turn over. I've heard rumors about how the rsa do not stay long. The probationary period was discussed wherein you must meet certain sales goals, or you will not make it.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 2 months)
I got a lead via career builder for the counter sales position. I applied online and then saw the position for "city manager" and applied for that also. I had a phone interview for both positions via an outsourced company seperately. I then got a call for my face-to-face inerview. I met with the district manager and was interviewed for the city manager position. I was given a test to fill out and return, a bubble test which I had to do online and fill in. was told that if i passed that I would be called back for a second interview. It all worked out and I was called back for my second interview in which he told me about the salary, benefits, and asked if I had any questions. I also did a sales presentation and he remarked that I had a great deal of management experience and that I seemed to be a good fit. I was then given paperwork for my drug test and did paperwork for a background check, credit check and driving record. I was told that if all of those thing panned out I would meet with another manager for a second interview. A full month went by with no word. Come to find out that because I applied for two positions it tied up my application. I then went into the corporate office for my second interview to meet up with the corporate training manager. He then asked me various questions about how I would handle certain challenges and employees. The employees at the airport location where I had my first interview were very nice, laid back and wore uniforms. The employees at corporate were all hidden, I didn't see them. 21 days later I get a call back over the phone with a job offer. I accepted the position.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Naperville, IL (took 4+ weeks)
They are looking for indendent representatives to manage a non airport location and work on commission. Very close to an employee relationship, but without benefits. It works for some people, but many others find it difficult to make a living.

Reason for Declining
