Interviewed Jun 2010 in New York, NY (took 2+ weeks)
I had a total of 7 interviews, from HR to my hiring manager, the executive from the department, as well as people from other areas of the company.
They asked me motivational questions: why do you want to work for Avon, why this position, etc.
And also case questions: imagine you have to double sales in 10 years, what would you do?

Negotiation Details
They asked my salary range before making the offer. Their offer was the very minimum I had said.
Suggestion: increase your minimum by 20%!
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
They were hiring for multiple Associate Brand Manager positions so I met with representatives from three departments (color, skin care and fragrance) . The interviews were all fairly similar. Each started with a "give me a bit of your background" question. After explaining my education, professional experience and work style they asked further questions regarding my background. There was a heavy emphasis on corporate structure and each interviewer made it a point to explain where this position would fall and who is above, below and on the same level. Each asked why I was interested in beauty and why specifically Avon.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
The Hiring Process was very straight forward.
The recruiter called me and asked me if I was interested in moving to NY and gave me the Job Profile. Had a phone interview with a VP and the Hiring Manager and got invited for a 1:1 interview. The company paid for the airfare and had a car pick you up and drop you off from the airport. The 1:1 interview was very hectic with 6 people interviewing one after the another (including, SVP, VP, HR & Managers). Once that was done, I was asked to talk to another SVP and head of the group and was offered the position a few days later.

Then i was contacted about 3 weeks later to set up a panel interview with 3 people that are currently working at avon. They took turns asking similar questions and writing down notes. Interviewed Feb 2009 (took a day)
The whole process was quick! I had an employee referral, received a phone-interview, had a flight for the following week to come for an in-person interview. I met/interviewed with approximately 5 people (including HR rep, Director and VP) but no peers. I had my offer by the beginning of the following week, and accepted by that Friday. I'm so glad it wasn't a long and drawn out process, but I know after being here, it's not that way for everyone. Some people it can take MONTHS to hear anything back.

Interviewed May 2009 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
The first interview was with HR on the phone. It took 2-3 weeks to get a call back for an in-person interview. The in-person was with HR and the hiring manager and consisted of typical questions such as "tell me about your background", "why are you looking to leave", "why Avon". It took another month or so to call me back for a second interview. The second interview was with the group VP and consisted of similar questions "tell me about your background", "why Avon". I also met with two cross-functional team members and the interviews were conversational. After another 2-3 weeks, I received an offer. Overall I think they look for skills set, background, and the right cultural fit.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
Through a recruiter. Two in-person sessions, both with multiple people. Everyone was great, questions were fair, and the experience was positive. Once complete, had to do a background/reference check, and also take a urine drug test (standard 5 panel). My advice would be to prepare in terms of why you want to join and what you want to get out of your experience. Avon is a company currently undergoing a lot of change, so you have to understand and embrace that as well.
