    Application

I applied online – interviewed at BD.

    Interview

The interview process I encountered with BD was lacking on many aspects. I interviewed with a sales manager who supposedly was only given this territory three weeks ago. He could not honestly answer simple questions such as what this geographical sales area this territory actually covered. The job description stated 25% travel in my metro area. Clearly the sales territory was much larger than stated and all he could say was you go where the money is. He would not answer when I asked him if the listed job description was wrong. He and his sales manager assistant also peppered me with specific questions regarding my current non-lab industry’s strategic planning that had absolutely nothing to do with this position’s responsibilities. They stated it was their version of shark tank and seemed to really enjoy themselves. Totally unprofessional behavior to say the least. Two hours after the interview, I received a call from corporate HR stating that this position was filled internally. What an absolute waste of time and poor representation of BD especially if they had already decided that fast to fill a position internally. I really had high expectations going into this interview with BD, extremely disappointed.

Sent resume and was screened by the HR dept just based on my CV. This led to a telephone interview by the hiring executive. There were no initial screening interviews by the HR dept.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at BD.

    Interview

I didn't think I was qualified for the position based on the description. I applied anyway and received a call back within two weeks. The first interview was over the phone with an engineering supervisor. They asked basic questions about my experiences. The second interview was in person with the upper management team. They asked about my experience and future goals. There were several "tell me about a time where you experienced......". The in person interview was very relaxed. The interviewers were very friendly.

    Interview Questions

    • Almost everyone asked "Are you a SC Gamecocks or Clemson Tigers fan?". People in SC take football very seriously although it doesn't matter who you like.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I was able to negotiate pay and vacation. They have a wide pay scale, so don't be afraid to ask for a generous income up front. Also negotiate a reasonable amount of vacation because you don't get another week until you have been here for 10 years.

I applied through college or university. The process took 5+ weeksinterviewed at BD (Durham, NC) in January 2015.

    Interview

It was a 30 mins interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager seems nice but very careful to listen to details to see if you are a good fit. Questions I was asked are why you are a good fit, tell me about yourself, tell me a time that you led a team. It seems like they are looking for candidates with relevant background.

    Interview

Questions about quality processes and complaints, quality assurance, medical and safety issues, medical diagnostic equipment. It was pleasant and easy going akin to my current boss's attitude. It was a simple phone screen and I was given an offer the same day.

    Interview

I applied online and was interviewed by a recruiter over phone after which I had a phone interview with a hiring manager. The hiring manager was nice and very friendly over the phone. After a month, I attended the personal interview with the whole team. I was interviewed by 5 people. The first interviewer was very nice and friendly. One particular interviewer was unprofessional and rude. Did not maintain eye to eye contact with me instead was more keen on taking notes by looking down. Another interviewer was looking at the phone, seemed disinterested, was also more keen on taking notes, did not allow me to ask questions and ran away. In the end, as expected I did not get the job offer. glad that I didnt get the job as i figured out that i will not be a right fit. Im very glad that I will not be working for this team!

    Interview Questions

    • they've been making us work 96+ hours bi-weekly instead of a typical 80 for the last 6 years on three shifts instead of just hiring 4X12hr crews for 80hrs bi-weekly and not killing your employees... working 6 days a week every week for 6 years is devastating on the human body.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

its a structured pay scale, so easy.. started off at $15 and made my way up to $22 by assessments on my skill set and abilities.

    Senior Engineer Interview

    Interview

2 rounds of phone interviews with the hiring manger and his/her manager. Followed by on-site interview with the team members and several key-stakeholders in other departments (scientists, HR person, etc.) The questions are reasonable and bring out the true credential of the candidates. The accommodation is pretty good (over-night stay in hotel).

    Negotiation

I were able to negotiable to get a few more thousands in compensation but no more. Also got a generous delayed start date (3 months later) so as to make the relocation easier to deal with.

    Statistician Interview

    Interview

First, I interviewed over the phone. Based on the phone interview I got invited to the Franklin Lakes, NJ location for an onsite interview. I took a day off from work to go to the interview. I thought the interview went well. The comments I received while onsite from several interviewers were positive, and I thought I was well qualified for the position. Then I never heard from them again. I sent email to both the HR contact and the hiring manager several times, but I never heard back. I thought: if this is the way BD treats people, they must be really awful to their employees. If I take a day off from work for an onsite interview, at least have the courtesy to tell me whether I got the position or not. Based on my experience, I would *not* recommend this company.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at BD in October 2014.

    Interview

Applied online on company website. Was contacted by an external recruiter for screening interview about 2 weeks after the application. Set up a time to talk on the phone and spent about 30 minutes talking about past experiences, behavioral, nothing technical. He seemed disinterested and was reading from a paper. He said he will let me know in a week. No contact. Called him in 2 weeks and he said he will respond in 2 days. No news for 2 more weeks. Completely unprofessional.
