Was generally dismayed to find the location of the Bj's so close to the Lincoln Tunnel in NYC. Was left waiting at customer service desk for 15 minutes pre-interview. Understandable as managers are busy people in this industry. I was told that I would be seen now and I entered the office to find the manager not terribly busy at all, staring at his computer screen with a look of concentration akin to a heated game of Tetris.

Reason for Declining
The use of the S word and F word simultaneously in addition to the manager's admittance that I probably had a larger salary than he did presently.

I applied this position via an open house. I specifically ask for this position because of my prior job experience. The interviewer asked some of the job related question and the interview went good. However, BJ's used a set system to determine a new hire's salary. It was low!

well i was interviewed with a crowd of about 50 people. We were all asked general questions to see if i would qualify for the position. I later was told that i would get a one on one interview with a customer service manager. That interview was conducted in a private room where i was asked of m past experiences and leadership skills.

They had a hiring center open before the store opened, I came in too late to be interviewed for a management spot, but wound up in member services after interviewing with the store manager, the ops manager, the hr manager and a quick talk with the membership manager.

They weren't flexible at all with the salary, I was lucky to get 10 an hour since I have several years of retail experience.

Hiring process streamlined, too reluctant and too fastidious in process. They do not really need a good reason to go back on offer either. Overall, it seems like a very old setup with bandages and patches to it.
