I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 4 months - interviewed at BMC Software in May 2013.
Interview Details – It took 4 months and 5 rounds of interviews to complete the process. The interviews were very reasonable except one where the person acted over smart. Overall, the process is managed unprofessionally and one does not have a clue where the whole status is, it is said that the hiring managers have complete empowerment
Interview Question – What is the most innovative thing you have done? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Yes, I did as at first the HR representative offered negligible hike, but when it was brought to her attention that it is ridiculous, she changed the offer.
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at BMC Software in March 2013.
Interview Details – I joined the company when I was fresh out of college. The hiring process for this position is quite simple. There was a technical round, where basically the interviewer wanted to test my communication and basic technical aptitude rather than looking for any particular knowledge. It was clear that they needed someone with the right attitude to start afresh and learn as quickly as possible and start contributing to the business asap. In short, not really difficult to get in if you are a fresher.
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at BMC Software in August 2012.
Interview Details –
Applied via LinkedIn - got a call in a week, followed by a telephonic interview with a senior manager in the US, and then 4 other telephonic interviews with the different managers, and team members, followed by a disastrous HR experience. After having wasted 8 hours of my time over a barrage of seemingly pointless interviews, they don't care to update me about whether or not they want to hire me. I'd imagine 6 rounds of interviews was some indication of my suitability (although I pretty much blew the interviewers out of the water on every single occasion!)
All in all, a very poor experience. Moral of the story: a company's hiring is a good indicator of its culture (or the lack, thereof.) I'd certainly never consider working with BMC Software in the future, and will dissuade anyone from my alumni/professional network from doing so.
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at BMC Software in September 2010.
