I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at BMO Financial Group in November 2013.

Interview Details – Applied through company website. Got called by one of their recruiters for an initial phone screen. Then, met in person with the hiring manager. Interview lasted an hour. Got asked lots of questions about how I manage a team, what personalities I work best with, current knowledge of the financial sector and regulatory aspects. The interview ended with the hiring manager saying she'll follow up in a few weeks time with next steps after she finishes meeting with all the other candidates.

Interview Question – Tell me about a time when you've had a supervisor challenge one of your decisions, and how did you handle it.   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 months - interviewed at BMO Financial Group.

Interview Details – The hiring process is fairly standard... Once you make it by the HR phone interview they had a 1hr face to face interview with me in which they tell you more about the role and see if you can add examples where you've done similar work in the past. Once that was finished I got called in for a final interview with a Senior Manager who asked very high level questions just to make sure his hiring manager didn't miss anything and that was it.

Interview Question – No business case for my position, they did tell me about a previous problem that they had to resolve and before telling me how they resolved it they asked me to explain how I would have dealt with it. But as interviews go they stayed away from the hard case study questions.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Initial Offer = Too low compared to what my research said so I asked for 5k more
Final offer = They removed the signing bonus and added that amount to my yearly salary.

I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at BMO Financial Group in March 2010.

Interview Details – There are three round interviews. First round, 1:1 interview with the director. The questions include the regular resume questions, and some technical questions. After the questions, the director gave me two books to read and would test me again after reading these two book for three days. I spent two days on that, and got the basic idea. Then, I went to interview with the director again, and got tested on the knowledge on the book and the questions mainly to test my fast-learning and understanding abilities. Then, I went to interview with the manager and he tested me some math questions. Two days after that, I was informed to interview with the senior VP. He is quite satisfied with my performance in the interview performance.

Interview Question – Do you consider xxx position before which can make more money?   Answer Question
