    Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Zürich (Switzerland)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Zürich (Switzerland)) in August 2013.

    Interview

It was a very short interview with an impatient woman who seemed to be distracted by other things. I believe I was under-qualified for the job, that's why. But still everyone deserves a chance and I thought my innate qualities were more important than my resume or degrees. I realize I was nervous and intimidated which probably didn't help. Confidence is very important when interviewing with banking institutions.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked me about a valuation method that I didn't understand and hadn't learned in school.   1 Answer

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Paris (France)) in July 2013.

    Interview

For final year interns there is a 1st interview with manager and other analysts, 2nd interview with HR along with a personality test which is more of a formality. For 1st year interns there is usually only one interview and for full time jobs there 4-5 rounds of interviews.

    Interview Questions

Expect lots of behavioral and CV questions with focus on your extra curricular activities.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

No much to negotiate, BNP Paribas is best in class in terms of compensation and they have different tiers of compensation schemes depending on your school.

    Accepted Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Singapore (Singapore)) in January 2012.

    Interview

Received phone call and proceeded with interview with hirer. First impressions of the hirer were favourable. Friendly interview but standard questions were asked during the interview, hence it wasn't especially memorable. Took about 20 mins as hirer had to leave for another meeting. Was given a verbal indication that they might hire, but the offer came about 4 weeks later.

    Interview Questions

    • standard questions on experience and reason for application. No one asked any behavioural questions.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Given an impression that the bank could not really pay as the asking price was not justified by the experience. However when other offers came along, they could match easily.
