Interviewed Jan 2012 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Interview was 2 stages. First they had an HR rep ask about why I wanted to work there, a difficult experience, when you did something poorly and how you learned from it/improved yourself, etc. Then there was a technical part where they asked some basic heat transfer/statics questions to see how you responded.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Pretty Standard Interview, I ended up being from the same city that my interviewer was from which was helpful in relating to him. They asked a technical question relating to heat transfer. I answered it to the best of my ability, although I had not yet taken heat transfer. Apparently, I did well enough to get an offer.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Felt the interview was pretty challenging. Ive interviewed with over 15 companies in the last month, and this interview was both the longest and most challenging. It lasted over 75 minutes and consisted of both behavorial questions in addition to a skills test.
The skills test consisted of a case study about an international deal. I didn't get the offer, but I learned a lot about interviewing after meeting with them.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 3 days)
I filled out an online application after meeting the recruiters at my campus. When I heard I was invited to a final interview, I signed up online. A couple days prior to the interview I attended a pre-interview dinner that was mostly social, but the recruiters also asked a few preliminary questions about my interest in the job. The interview was with a panel of two employees at about 1 1/2 hours long - it was pretty intense. There were a few intro questions about myself, a behavioral portion, and then a technical portion which consisted of a really simple case study of a problem that I may face in the job.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 1 week)
BP is one of the only companies that seems to be concerned with your technical skills when interviewing you. As a geologist, I was shown seismic lines and asked to interpret them. Other than this technical aspect, the rest of the interview was pretty standard. It lasted about 45 minutes, and also included the standard questions about leadership and conflict resolution (be prepared to give examples from your past).

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4 weeks)
I received a call from the hiring manager, she conducted a pre-screen interview, discussing the position and the situation. Based on my interest and responses to her questions, she elected to have me come in for a face-to-face interview, they gave me pre-read materials for the interview session and communicated how things would go down, I was interviewed by a panel of 3 managers, they did behavioral interviewing based on the job requirements, it was very clear and concise. Everyone was very engaging and professional. After that panel discussion, I had to do a face-to-face meeting with a more senior HR director, she was very gracious and laid back, explaining what was going on in the office regarding restructuring and realignment activities. All in all, it was really a positive experience.

Be honest about what you are making and what you want, their background check is intense, they ask for W-2s and paystubs, so don't lie. They aren't going to short-change you.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4 weeks)
I was contacted by HR 4 months after my on-line application. It was a brief conversation, no more than 10 minutes. They asked about my current job situation, my last salary and experience. Then, they said that I will be contacted by email to schedule a face-to-face interview. The email arrived 2 weeks later and the interview was scheduled in a two weeks time frame. Finally, the face-to-face interview was conducted by two business managers. Most of the questions were related with behavior resolving business or personal issues (teamwork, leadership, communication)

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Travel arrangements were great, they insisted to me to fly even with my willingness to drive. There were two panel interviews, one technical and one behavioral. The technical interview started with an explanation of BP, the organizational structure of the department and how the position fitted in the structure. I was asked to give an example on every answer and they keep drilling on my answers to a great detail. The second interview was a behavioral case questions; also they require examples in every answer. This interview process was one of the toughest one that I had ever encountered although they were very respectful.
