Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
Spring of 2011, I applied for Bain's Summer Intern position and was offered an interview within a week of the submission of my application. Blair (Recruitment) was extremely nice and a very personable person to talk to and has made the overall experience very pleasant. I was directed to a first round interview consisting of two cases: pharmaceutical industry and healthcare industry. The cases were pretty straightforward and mainly consisted of market sizing, revenue/cost analysis, strategies to deal with competition/new entry, and a bit of twist on some creative strategies that clients can use to deal with loss in profit. I believe I did extremely well on the first one, but did not impress my interviewer on the second one (she's a managing director and is more demanding). I did not receive an offer, but nevertheless enjoyed the overall experience (however nerve-racking it appeared to be) and learned a lot from it. I'm applying to Bain again this season and am offered an interview once again. This time I'll be more prepared and hopefully will receive a chance to join this awesome company :)
