Interviewed Mar 2012 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
Met at campus career fair. Was immediately offered an interview, and also went to pre-night interviewees only dinner. The interview itself wasn't difficult and was very standard questions. I wasn't expecting it to be 2:1, but they were friendly.
Everything after was unprofessional. It's been 2 months almost since I interviewed and no reply from them. I have attempted to follow up multiple times with no response.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
They sent out an invitation via E-mai to sign up for an inteview time. The night before the interviews there was a reception at a nice restaurant with food an an open bar. You met who would be interviewing you the next day and had a chance to mingle with them. The interview the next day was alright, my first 30 minute interviewer showed up 15 minutes late and was hungover, the second interviewer was very professional though.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
The process started with filling out the application online and then a personality test; which was normal for any type of sales/customer service position. Upon passing with a "recommended" (no scores) I was contacted by an associate recruiter that scheduled a phone interview with the VP of recruiting.
The phone interview lasted approximately 45 minutes and asked the usual questions some behavioral but most regarding my background and why I wanted to work for BoA. She was very plesant and ready to answer any and all questions I had regarding the position and the company. Upon being looked at as desirable by the head of recruiting she scheduled a one on one interview with the branch manager I would be working for. There was no panel interview I believe it depends upon your market whether they are 1:1 or panel.
The in-person interview again was normal nothing out of the ordinary, not intimidating; it was actually very friendly and warm. Again I think it depends on the market and the personality of whom is doing the interviewing.
The process took a bit longer I believe than it normally would because the Branch Manager was on a two week vacation. This was the only downside to the process.
Advice: be yourself, be enthusiastic , and be ready with examples of what you have done in various customer service/ sales situations.
Negotiation Details
I was able to negotiate to the top starting level of a Personal Banker and the process was simple but it honestly depends on your background. It did take a couple of extra days to receive official offer letter because approval was needed for the starting salary amount.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 1 week)
I applied and received a call from a lady from HR, she asked me a few questions about my experience, i.e. past work, cash handling experience. Then I was scheduled for a group interview, received an email giving the details of that interview. She also said I would receive pre-employment information, which I did not get until I contacted her via e-mail and phone calls. I then went to the group interview which had 17 people in it. They asked us why we wanted to work for BOA and to give an experience when we offered great customer service and then did a role play where we had to sell a product. Later that day, I got offered a 1:1 interview for the branch I applied for. This is where I feel BOA fell short. I showed up for the interview which was the day after the group interview. The lady had no clue I was even coming. The whole interview consisted of her asking me questions about the previous bank I worked for, she had no clue what to do or ask. Then when it was over she actually asked me what the next step was. Later that day, I received an e-mail from HR saying they are not hiring me ( I think it was because they wanted someone to transfer in, when I first started talking with the manager she was shocked I wasn't already employed with the company, like she was expecting a transfer employee, not a new hire). I sent an email just asking for feedback on my interview and never heard anything back. This is suppose to be a professional organization, but what a joke! No communication skills!

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
I had my last interview on February 2011. This was with the functional manager; so I thought I was for sure getting the job. It was my 3rd interview and they actually flew me in from California to Chicago to meet this person. Interviewer was going through my resume, basically to figure out where I would fit in the team. The interview seemed pretty well; until I never heard back from them. I tried following up 2 weeks later; and they told me that everything had gone great. Except they had a HIRING FREEZE. Is this the new: "we'll call you", don't call us" strategy? Anyway, I kept checking back; because thats' what they instructed me to do. to keep checking back every 2 weeks. Last time I checked back; and sort of also asked if I should give up; was in MAY 2011. I can't believe they wouldn't just say: forget it; we have another candidate. Stringing me along all this time. I could have been researching and interviewing somewhere else. I was pretty upset to find out I wasn't going to be hired 5 months after my firsts interview. No real follow up or professional attitude.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Chicago, IL (took 2+ weeks)
Got connected through a recruiter, followed by a phone call from the HR from the company. The hiring manager called next and discussed my background, interest and details of the job opening. The discussion ent on well with a follow up call from another team member. Later on, the position was closed out due to the market crash.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 3 months)
Interview relative to past experiences. The process consisted of two phone interviews and 3 in person interviews. All interviews took place over the a three (3) month period. There was no follow up along the way, which is highly unusual for a large corporation with inside recruiters. After a lengthy process, the company decided that they did not need to hire an additional FTE for this particular department. This was not communicated to me directly, rather, I had to call in to get an update. It could have just been timing in regards to me calling them before they had a chance to call the candidates to inform them.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Elgin, IL (took 3 weeks)
After you apply and meet the criteria, you will recieve a phone call. The phone call isnt much of an interview, just to schedule an interview. Once yo meet in person, you need to show that you are a team player and most of all that you can sell.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
Phone interview with the HR person in NC, then four interviews with people from the Chicago office. Questions were fairly straight forward but once I got in there I realized they were only interested in people who were in a credit underwriting role for some time.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 1 week)
A few weeks after filling out an application online, I was called by a recruiter to schedule a group interview. I went for the interview about a week after that call. During the group interview, which consisted of 10-12 people, we learned info about the company and had to do some role playing. They also asked us where we saw ourselves within the company in the next 2 years. Details are crucial! Overall the process was okay. I am no moving on to the next step, which is a one on one interview with the specific branch manager.
