Interviewed Dec 2011 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
I applied online and received a call from a recruiter who invited me to a group interview. There, you had to smile and answer questions about situations posed by the recruiter. The questions generally related to how you would treat a customer. I think all the prospective applicants in the group did themselves very proud in their responses. One of the things that BofA stresses is the deivery of great customer service. After all, that how banks make money. Overall, my experience was very positive.

It was quick and easy. Very direct, to the point, they knew what they were looking for, what they had to offer, and it was a good match for the both of us. I am extremely looking forward to working at this company soon.

Interviewed May 2011 in Jonesboro, GA (took a day)
They simply asked standard employer hiring questions. For Instance, decribe a time in which a customer was particularly difficult and how you were able to handle it. They had two people interview me a one time one person they said was learning the interview process. The interview took less than an hour I believe.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
I had a series of phone interviews, starting with a Recruiter, then moving to a hiring manager-level interview. That interview was unusual because on the call was actually a 2 hiring managers plus an employee who had the same job that I was applying to. I felt the questions were fair and thorough.

I had been doing work for the company on a contract with a 3rd party. As a contractor my take-home pay was obviously higher than what I knew I'd be offered. When it came time to convert, the salary was Ok, but I pushed back just by saying that while I knew I was going to earn less as a FTE with the company, I wanted to minimize the drop-off compared to my contracting rate. They were only able to come up $1k/yr but it was better than nothing.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 5 days)
I applied for the personal banker position and received a call within two days and set up a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty basic. The recruiter said she thought I would be a better fit for the sales and service position and said she would like to set up a 1:1 interview for that position. I did the interview on Monday and it was pretty short. Asked me question about Bank of America and what I knew about them. At the time I didn't feel they asked enough questions to really make a decision. The interview lasted 30 minutes at most. He asked a lot of questions about Bank of America and not much about my qualifications or skills. Since I had done a lot of research on the company I felt well prepared. I got a call Thursday and was excited thinking I had a job offer or a second interview. I talk to the recruiter and she said the manager I interviewed with thought I did very well but the position has been cancelled. In four days they cancelled the position. She said they liked me and will keep my application open and invite me to apply to other positions. he sent me on an interview for a position I didn't apply for and one she recommended only to tell me it has been canceled. I've been looking for a job for awhile now and spent hours trying to prepare for this interview to find out I interviewed for a job that doesn't exist. I have no idea what their motives were. I'm not sure if they were just looking to see who would apply or what. They really seemed to be a professional company up until I learned they sent me on an interview for an imaginary job. I do not intend to apply for another position at Bank of America.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Charlotte, NC (took 2 weeks)
I applied to the program via my college career website and was contacted within a couple weeks. Here is my experience:??
1) Phone Interview:?
After corresponding with the HR department we were able to set up a phone interview with a senior manager. The screening lasted about 35 minutes and consisted of various resume and behavioral questions. The behavioral questions, although very laid back, were situational questions litterally read from a prepared list made by Bank of America (and we both joked about it). The interviewer was very helpful during the screening and showed genuine interest in the candidate's ablity to suceed. Overall, it was a great first impression on both sides.??
2) Final Round - Charlotte, NC?
After about a week I recieved a personal phone call inviting me to interview for the final round at their headquarters in Charlotte, NC. They offered to pay all expenses which included transportation (round trip flight, taxi, gas...), food, and a hotel. Everything was very professionally done and extremely easy during this process.?
Once I got to the hotel, I was given an informational packet with my itinerary upon check-in and had to prepare for the reception dinner later that night. The reception dinner, again, was very well done. We were brought up to the executive lounge on the 60th floor of the Bank of America building where we met with various executives who we would be interviewing with the next morning. Horderves and drinks were served as myself, the executives, and the 14 other candidates mingled overlooking the beautiful city of Charlotte (and yes, we could see straight into the Panthers stadium!).?
The next morning breakfast was served around 7:00AM. It was the usual bacon and eggs, fresh fruit, pastries...another typical day in the life of a Bank of America employee. Everything was awesome!?
After breakfast the real fun started. Interviews started at 8:00AM. They had a detailed schedule of who each candidate would be interviewing with. There were three 1:1 interviews each lasting about 40 minutes, with two breaks throughout the morning. They were all in a big conference room behind a row of black curtains. Again, more resume questions, the typical "tell me about yourself," and last but not least, the pregenerated behavioral questions. Again, the interviewers were laid back and comical at times, but still very professional.?
After the interviews, lunch was provided and we were able to meet with current "new hires" who had been with the company for a few months and asked them questions.??
Summary:?
Overall, I must say this was quit the experience for a new college grad interviewing for a position within corporate America. This interview process definitely strengthened my desire to work for this company. The piece I the enjoyed the most was that this position allows you to find your strengths and weaknesses as well as your likes and dislikes which gives you more freedom to explore your career path. Keep in mind, Bank of America, like most companies, is a company that wants smart, intelligent people, but most of all they want people with common sense and the desire to improve themself.
