Interviewed Nov 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
I was called up for a phone interview after 3 weeks submitting my application and was invited for the assessment centre. It consist of 3 stages, 1st up is the competency interview 1:1 for 2 rounds 45mins each where you're bombarded with a series of competency based questions. 2nd is the group activity where you have to show that you can work together as a team and demonstrate teamwork. Lastly it will be a prioritisation test where you're given a list of task and sort out the most important 5 tasks. Overall experience is great as the interviewer are really friendly and the atmosphere is relatively relax. But do not let your guard down you're assessed through out the 5hrs you're there.

One other question is what would you want to get? - guaranteed sum of usd1500 or 50% chance of getting usd5000?

Interviewed Sep 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 days)
Got contacted by a headhunter and they got me the interview.
Very straightforward interview process. Nice people and one just has to be oneself. I did three interviews with Barcap for different positions - all were very much the same.
"Run me through your CV" began with everyone so make sure you have a nice interesting story to tell on how you ended up coming to Barcap.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 1 week)
Very straight forward interview. Very nice people and enjoyed speaking about my background.
Almost every interview starts with "Run me through your CV" and this was no different. One questions that consistently came up was "Why Operations?". On top of that, it is important to know what your strongest achievement was. That was asked in two separate interviews.
Finally, the last standard question was where do you see yourself in 3 years?

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 2 weeks)
Application then numerical and verbal tests online.
If you are succesful, the HR would contact you to schedule a phone interview.
Phone interview was pretty easy. The interviewer asked questions like introduce yourself, why did u choose ops, etc. Nothing particularly hard.
Assessment centre is the last round. The first stage was face to face interview with two interviewers. They questioned a wide range of questions like tell them about yourself, what you know about the company, and they would target questions based on your resume to find out more about you. So you should know your resume inside out. And general questions about the current economy.
Second stage is interview with the line managers. They would give u 15 mins to prioritise a list of 20 activities. Rank top 5. They are trying to test your prioritising skills and reasonings for these choices.
Last stage is a group activity. To build a 4 by 4 cube with same colors on each side. They are trying to see if you're a team player.
