    Application

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Barnum Financial Group.

    Interview

Initial contact was by me when I followed up on a submitted application. Process moved along decently fast. It's a short internship period, as of 2014 it was an eight-week internship.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no curveballs at all. First round interview was my only interview and it was very behavioral and resume based. I got an offer after the first and only interview.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

    $12/hour, there was no negotiation

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Barnum Financial Group (New York, NY) in November 2014.

    Interview

Typical process, tell me about yourself, what are you looking for, what are your future plans/want to do with your career. They were very friendly and explained the room for growth and that they like to hold onto interns so that they eventually will work for the company full time one day

    Interview Questions

    Reasons for Declining

Seemed that it was more of a sales internship, which I was not interested in.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at Barnum Financial Group in August 2014.

    Interview

I applied through my university. After couple days, I received an invitation to an in-person interview at a local office. On the interview day, I received an email from the recruiter saying she cannot go to the local office to meet me because she need to work at other place on that day. The received the email right before I left my house. It was lucky that I checked the email because I need to drive 2 hours to the office. The recruiter said she will follow up with me. However, I didn't hear from her since that day. I sent several email to check what happened. But no response at all! The recruiter doesn't care or respect the candidate at all! I hope other candidates have better experience that what I have experienced. Good Luck!

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Barnum Financial Group (Wethersfield, CT) in May 2010.

    Interview

I interviewed multiple times and entered Pre appointment training once a week starting in June. During which I had to study for the life and health insurance exam and series 7. I will be presenting in front of the board in august to start paid training. The people were generally very pleasant as they are all successful salesmen and have good people skills. Be honest in the interview because this career is not for everyone.
