Spoke for a few minutes about my current job, then had a written exam of network and Linux related questions. I did pretty good on the written portion, at which point they offered me a level 1 tech support position which pays $20/hr

Lengthy interview process so bring your A game! On the day of my scheduled appointment I was interviewed by six different people. All but one of these interviews were one on one scenarios. Following the interviews you are then given a written test. The first two interviews were with managers. The first manager tried to gauge why I was there, my experience, and why I saw Barracuda to be a good fit. The second manager basically paints a picture of the work environment for you (typical day, benefits, expectations, etc), and was a pleasure to speak with. The other interviews are with actual technicians, either layer 2 or layer 3. The interviews with the technicians grind you down to see what you know, and to determine where you would fit best in the company (security, data storage, etc). They are looking for the best of the best. You have to bring something to the table.

    Interview Questions
    • Be familiar with the well known port numbers (DNS, DHCP, etc). Networking (routing protocols, FHRPs, VLANs etc) and Linux CLI skills are essential.   Answer Question

1 interview call within the next few days and the interview was very balance as if the hiring manager was looking out for you as well. Had a few off topic chat with the manager as it was pretty laid back as it is always at Barracuda.

    Interview Questions
    • It was pretty straight forward, difficult and unexpected because I couldn't remember the answer the question which I had learn before a while back.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
Just an offer with a few days time limit, nothing too complex rather than getting it back to the manager on time.

I had two phone interviews, then an in-person interview.

    Interview Questions
    • A lot of basic interview questions. Few questions were related to the position, describe a time you had trouble working with a large data and how did you solve it. Describe a time you had to make a quick decision without notify your supervisor. There was a small test with 3 questions at the end to test your knowledge about vLookup and Pivot table. Last questions was a bit tricky.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Barracuda Networks in February 2014.

    Interview Details

I responded to a Craigslist job posting and from there had a mix of email and phone conversations with a manager. I was going to be in the area interviewing at another business and got email from the manager about wanting me to come in while I was driving to the other interview, so arranged to stop by Barracuda after that.

The interview was one of the most lengthy I've ever had, involving a general administrative interview with the manager, followed by two one on one technical interviews with other technicians. They did not appear to have shared much information with each other so some ground was covered repeatedly. I think the process did a good job of determining my expertise level, both strengths and weaknesses, as well as my career aspirations. The entire process was at least two and a half hours.

    Interview Questions
    • "What is your favorite operating system" may be the most bizarre interview question I have ever encountered, and I really had no idea what the interviewer was looking for exactly.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
I was made an offer, which I accepted, but then was later told what I was offered was not approved by senior management and was forced to negotiate a slightly lower rate of pay. The rate I negotiated to was only slightly lower, but I felt this was quite unethical. The original offer was "informal" being through email and not an official offer on letterhead, so I would recommend to anyone else interviewing here to play your cards closer to your chest and not accept anything until you get an official offer in writing.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Barracuda Networks.

    Interview Details

Hiring and interview process were very misleading. They told me I would make a certain amount of commission on each sale and then within two weeks of being hired the CEO decided to lower the commission for the team I was on by half a point. They pay was already extremely low so had I have been told the commisssion was going to be reduced in two weeks i would not have taken the job.

    Interview Questions
    • There were no difficult questions asked in the interview. My interviewer seemed to not care one way or another about my answers and would simply hire me if I was willing to take such low pay.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
I attempted to negotiate a higher rate based on my experience but never even receieved a call back from my highering manager. He simply ignored my request.
