Interviewed Aug 2011 in Thornhill, ON (Canada) (took 1 week)
Make sure you arrive at least 5-10 minutes early and dress appropriately. Don't forget to do a little research about the company and their products. The questions are straightforward, just take your time to think about your answer. It was a group interview, so whenever you were ready to speak, you spoke. Talk clearly and be confident and enthusiastic. Good luck!

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took a day)
The interview was very fun and personable. It was me and one other person applying for sales associate with the store manager. The interviews are usually in a group of about 3 to 5 people depending on the day. I had to grab my favorite product in the store to take on the interview which was in the food court. I grabbed a bottle of sweet pea lotion and had to pretend to sell it to the store manager. She asked us basic questions about school, previous jobs, and personality questions. It was really easy and laid back. I got hired right on the spot.

Interviewed May 2011 in Norfolk, VA (took 2 days)
I filled in an application and received a call within the week to attend a group interview. Since it was a group interview, I felt that standing out was key, but I made it a point not to be obnoxious about holding attention either. I dressed moderately conservatively and arrived on time. Only one other person showed up for the interview (there were supposed to be two more) so I guess I lucked out on that end. The Assistant Store Manager, who deals with hiring, asked me "stock" questions provided by the company. All of them dealt with customer service in a retail environment. It helps to know a little about the store beforehand but experience and knowledge were not required. It was better to show energy and good work ethic. Received a call the same day after the manager did background checks and was hired.

Interviewed Sep 2010 (took a day)
basically they asked the usual such as, why do you want this job, talk about a time when you felt very proud of what you were doing (as in job related), what is good customer service to you, explain a situation when you turned something negative into something positive etc.
They also presented 3 items for us and each one of us got to choose one and pretended to sell it

Interviewed May 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 1 week)
Informal. I spoke with the store manager and was asked questions about my previous challenges and strengths. Was then forwarded on to the district manager for a phone interview. Her questions were more of the same. Two or three days later the store manager called me and asked me to join.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took 2 days)
The interview process was fairly simple. I had worked with the company before, so I had references to back me up. I talked briefly with the Store Manager of the store I was applying for (which was in a different state than my previous store), and then was asked to come back later that day to talk with the DM (District Manager). We went out for coffee and she basically asked me to go over the application that I filled out (the job history portion), why I wanted the job...pretty standard interview questions. A few days later I was offered the position. The main thing they like to hear is that you're interested in using the position to learn so that you can grow with the company, that you love the customers (because their customers rule!), that you love to teach, etc.

Interviewed May 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
I applied on a Sunday & got a call back Monday for a group interview. I actually missed the call, but the guy left a message (unlike another location!). That Wednesday I showed up 15 minutes early & the store manager almost made it seem like a bad thing :/ But when four other girls showed up, she took us to the backroom and told us that we could answer or not answer the questions, no pressure, and that we could just speak up & didn't have to raise our hand or anything. I answered three out of the six questions, and it looked like she liked my answers, but I didn't get a call back (although she was only looking for 2 people out of 15+ interviewees). I was really worried about it being a group interview, but it ended up not being as stressful or intimidating as I thought. As for attire, I wore a casual business dress with classic low heeled pumps, but other girls were in nice black pants and some sort of nice blouse or layered shirts with flats or nice sandals.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Columbus, OH (took 2 weeks)
I was interviewed one on one first with the store manager, and then did a phone interview with DM. I was then called and asked to verify my availability, and they made it sound like the position would be mine if my availability suited what they needed. I called them back a few times and never got to speak with the store manager, and she never contacted me again. A little disappointing, but it happens.

Interviewed May 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA (took a day)
About two weeks after submitting my application, I recieved a call from the hiring manager asking me to attend a group interview for the following Monday. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was told to browse the store until the two other girls showed up.
When only one of the others showed up by the time of the interview, the manager took just the two of us back to the stock room and asked fairly simple questions, giving both of us a chance to answer each one. The interview itself was very informal and lasted about 20 minutes.
She did however tell us that if hired, we would most likely only receive one or two 4-hour shifts a week, but they B&BW is very compatible with scheduling around employee's second jobs.
After the interview, she told us that she would be calling our references and that we would hear from the store in about two weeks.
