Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 3 months)
Very friendly when I first met with Bechtel at the engineering career fair. Talked for about 10-15 minutes and set up a recruiter interview for the following day. Met with two very friendly recruiters from HR and proceeded to conduct the interview over the next hour. They asked the same questions in regards to leadership, hobbies, plans for the future, if I cared about relocating, and my work/school background. Following the interview I stayed in contact with HR. HR decided to conduct another interview over the phone. At this point I was on the phone with both the recruiter and person hiring at the particular location. I don't like phone interviews but treated as any other interview. First thing I was asked was to spend 5-10mins introducing myself. I hated this question because it was hard to gauge how much detail I wanted to go in. I don't recall the monotony of questions I was bombarded with, though they were thorough. Interview lasted roughly 45-50mins. Afterward I had a hard time getting a straight answer from HR. Usually told me they were in the interviewing/reviewing process and would let me know. Then I would just receive an automated email informing me my status has changed and to login on the website. Website merely said to check for other job posting at this time.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took a day)
I interviewed with 4 people and most were pleasant. As it was for a senior level position, there was not many technical questions. The interview was more to get a feel for the rapport with the people within the department.

Negotiation Details
The negotation went smoothly. It started with the number I put on the application for which the company offered a little lower in the first offer. I then pushed for a higher amount and the company came back with a higher number closely matching what I was asking for.

I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Urbana, IL (took a day)
A 1:1 interview, ask me a few behavioral questions and tried to sell the company and explain what they were about.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Decided that Plant Design Engineering was not about efficiency of the plant, and instead was more about designing to fit a set of given needs, designing pipes, materials, etc. More mechanical engineering that I was hoping for.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
The entire interview process went very well. It consisted of a one on one interview with the HR Representative. She mostly introduced me to the company by focusing on the company’s history, new and existing projects, and what benefits they offer. I then met with the hiring managers of Project Controls Estimating. They asked questions about my previous job. Their intent of course was to see if my skills could relate to the position offered and if my competence was well enough. They informed me in a nut shell of how their estimating department functions and what type of projects they work on. The interview lasted about an hour.

Interviewed Apr 2009 in Frederick, MD (took a day)
The interview process started with a phone call from the HR. After verified some basic background information as appeared on my resume, I was offered an on site interview.
The on site interview took a whole morning, start at 8am with a short meeting with the HR. No behavior questions, just some introduction about Bechtel, and relocation information. After that, I was interviewed by an engineer, a senior engineer, director of structural engineer, and the director of the whole department. The whole on-site interview was end by a lunch with the director of the whole department.
