Was unprofessional a lot of waiting doing nothing office was very busy. Paperwork was lost and never did some of the things they said I did. All they want is experience.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Morgantown, WV (took a day)
Submitted an online application and got a phone call to schedule an interview about a week later. Interview lasted about 40 minutes. The person who interviewed me was very nice and friendly; I felt really comfortable doing the interview with her. Had to answer the standard interview questions and how I would pitch their store credit cards. I also had to pick an object in the room and try to sell it to her. She was impressed that I had done some research on the company.

Negotiation Details
Not negotiable for temp employees. However, if you are are brought over as a regular employee after the seasonal period you are eligible for a raise in August and January if your sales are $200 per day or more.

At the actually 1:1 interview, there were a few questions about why I was interested in the job and more about my background.

I applied one day, got a call back the next, and set up an interview for the day after that. It was a very fast process. I go back for processing in a few days. The interview was very easy. They asked basic interview questions like "Why do you want to work for Belk?" and "Describe a time where you had to face a difficult customer". The lady that interviewed me was very nice and personable. I got the job on the spot. I can't wait to start.

The phone interview was brief. A good opportunity to share previous sales opportunities in the retail market. The actual interview was direct and to the point.

after i apply online. i don't know when i apply it. one morning i got a phone call from the department manager and he ask me for a face interview. after the interview he told me there would be other one with store manager. about 4-5 day after the department manager call me for the 2nd interview and sign papers. and i star that day on the floor.

Applied online a week later I got a call back. Came in for the interview and since I got a perfect score on the online IQ/Skills test I was offered the job after some very brief questions. Bascially describe a time when you had to do a big project and describe how you work under pressure. Very general interview questions nothing to out of the ordinary. They Focus on getting the sale and getting a the customer to open a Belk Card.
