Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 1 week)
I had prior experience in digital and print sales. A phone interview was conducted and then met with the Sales Manager 1:1. After that interview, I then had a phone interview with the Regional Sales Manager and had to conduct an even tougher closing and fact-finding presentation. My past experience and sales background helped a bunch in the interviewing process.

It was a set rate for this position. I would say the commission structure is pretty well laid out but can be confusing to most entry sales personnel. I was on the road, ALOT, say 10 months out of the year outside home market. Get proficient at packing a suitcase but company threw out quite a few commission incentives for digital sales contest throughout the year. I enjoyed my time there and the other rep's I was on the road with. Nothing really negative to say except that they are recovering from filing bankruptcy.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Skills Test, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Dayton, OH (took 4 weeks)
I had a total of six different interviews over a period of approximately four weeks. This included human resources staff/talent development people, the hiring manager and other senior people. The interview process overall was quite positive - with the interview process being both professional and informative. Quite honestly, I figured that after several interviews that all included a great deal of positive feedback, that I had to be an odds-on favorite for the position.... at least until having the interview with the actual hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was a full-blown train wreck from the beginning. It was 20 minutes late in starting, she acted like she had better things to do - in fact, she must HAVE as she took two phone calls during the interview and ended the interview 10 minutes early. The only thing I could figure was she had someone else in mind for the position and was just going through the motions. What had started out as a positive experience left me feeling like my time had been wasted along with the time of the other people that had interviewed me.

Interviewed Jun 2010 (took 4 weeks)
There were 4 face to face interviews before I got the offer. The main reason they do this is because the pay you for 8-12 weeks of training and they want to make sure not only you are the right person for the job, but you actually want to stay on after being hired. They will ask basic questions in the interview, have you sit with a rep 2 or three times and have you do a sales pitch, usually over the phone.
Main thing: when doing the fake phone sales pitch, make sure to ask your "customer" alot of questions about the business, find out their needs and pitch them based on that and the products they give you to sell. Make sure it includes print and internet products. If you do that, have decent experiences, and show a passion for internet advertising, you will get the job.

No negotiation however since they have a sales class every month, you usually can be flexible when you start.

Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
Interviewed over the phone twice with HR person. Second interview was a very long phone call with all situational questions, took about an hour. Then received a call to do an in-person interview. That consisted of an interview that again was all situational questions, with no questions about my background, although did give me an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the position. That was followed by another manager giving me a stack of info about a potential client, they put me in a room and told me that I had an hour to prepare for a phone sales call to a customer. It was information overload, did the call, manager was not too difficult on the 'mock' phone call, but, the whole experience was very strange. They told me I would not get any feedback. In about two days I received a rejection email. I tried to follow-up via email to the local manager, however, got no response. After the interview process I would not want to work for this company.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Englewood, CO (took 6+ weeks)
I was asked to interview with Berry and it comprised of four different interviews. They were actually fairly good at follow up and communication, which is not a very common gesture in today's world of finding a job. So I was somewhat impressed with that. It did not result in an offer; but four interviews and no offer, left me a little baffled. I had never experienced that many interviews without getting an offer. I felt a little mislead and the final interview was with the top Talent Development Officer and basically comprised of questions that were very personal in nature, instead of job related. I really left questioning his ability, skill and knowledge in talent development. But, now then, who are we, the workers of the world to question??

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Seattle, WA (took 4+ weeks)
The Berry company is in transition moving from print dominated sales to digital media. The new focus also includes a client centered approach. Interviewed over the phone and then had 3 1:1 interviews. I also had to do a quick tutorial of their products and then call the managers office and simulate a sales call. Industry knowledge and experience is desirable. I did not have the experience, however I had transferable skills and a passion for the web-based opportunities Barry is providing their clients.

Interviewed Nov 2008 (took 3 weeks)
The process was organized. First there was contact and phone interview through the recruiter. The next step was a one on one interview with skills test. After a period of time there were two additional one on one interviews along with a very candid explanation of the job and expectations. There was also the opportunity to experience the actual work enviroment.

Interviewed Dec 2008 in Birmingham, AL (took 2 weeks)
The interview process began through email. You receive an email asking you to consent to the disclosure of health information and a background check. Once you have given the ok for these things and they come back ok, you will begin speaking with a recruiter over the phone. The recruiter will ask general questions about your background and experience. If the recruiter feels that you should move on in the hiring process, then you will be contacted by a hiring manager to have a 1 on 1 interview. My best advice would be to seem very confident in yourself, but not arrogant.
