Interviewed Feb 2008 in Dayton, OH (took 2 days)
First I had to fill out all kinds of creepy personality profile stuff. Then I was called back for an interview. I had a one on one interview with the manger of the department I was applying for and then I was called back again for an interview with the store manager. Overall they acted like I was applying to work at some great place even though they said I would be paid peanuts and would have a flexible schedule. During the interview they asked about why I wanted to work at Best Buy. They asked what I would do if an employee was caught stealing a coke and I was the manager. They asked what department I would most like to work in as the last question.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Columbia, MO (took a day)
I have only finished the group interview thus far, but figured I would share my experience. There were 10 prospective employees at this particular interview. The interview started at 10am, and anyone who got there early was left waiting outside the store until it began. We were broken into two groups of 5 and both sat at tables in the same room. Everyone introduced themselves, giving their name and the shortest job they'd worked before. Then we started the "activities". For the first activity each group had to pick a movie, and then decide which of the characters from that movie each team member best matched.
After that each group was given a sheet of paper explaining a customer situation and set out on the sales floor with orders to find our customer a "complete solution." My group had a woman, both her husband were doctors, they wanted a high end laptop.
The next activity was a little more fun. We were to take a pen and paper and go pick out exactly what we would buy for ourselves if we were handed a $1000 gift card. After we returned everyone shared their shopping list.
The final activity was to create our own product, and a marketing ad for it. It could be anything we could think of, not restricted to current technology. This was also a group project. Each group picked a product, and then acted out an add for that product.
At the end they had us pick our top 3 preferred positions and our bottom two (from about 12) and answer 6 questions that they had written on the board at the beginning of the interview (why do you work, why did you pick best buy, what are your ties to this town, what is your availability, what are your plans this summer, is part-time ok)
