I applied for the job and received a phone interview.
I got a call back for a 1:1 interview with the supervisor I was going to be working under and he asked me questions consisting of basic interview questions and why I wanted to work in the department I was applying in.
A few days later I had another 1:1 interview with a manager and his questions were more about why I wanted to work at Best Buy in general and why I wanted to work in sales. (He also asked me to sell him on a pen.)
Lastly 2 days later I had one last 1:1 interview with the General Manager. He asked a few of the same questions as the manager in my last inteview, but this was a much shorter interview. He gave me room to ask him questions and then offered me the job on the spot.

I first applied for a job with Best Buy in August 2010. I went in every other day to speak with someone about getting an interview. Finally, about two weeks after I applied I got to speak with the person who does the phone interviews. After that initial interview I waited another two weeks for my second interview. After the second interview I had three more. Everyone was very nice and told me exactly what to expect as far as a timeline for hiring went so I knew from the first interview that it would take a while to actually get hired.
The first interview was easy; she asked very basic questions. The second interview typically is between the person wanting to be hired and the person who would be his or her supervisor (I had three of these). The last interview is typically between the person wanting to be hired and the General Manager of the store.

Very easy to negotiate. If you know what you want out of the job and are worth getting it, then they will work with you.

I applied online and received a phone call 3 days later.The manager asked me a few question on the phone such as "why do you want to work at best buy?" and "Tell me about your experience?".I answered the question to the best of my knowledge since they did catch me off guard.The manager asked me to come in for a one on one interview 3 days later where I was asked similar questions, such as "Tell me about an experience when you had to deal with a bad co worker" blah blah blah..mostly situational type questions.I then was offered a final interview with the general manager that consisted of similar questions but more in depth.The final interview lasted an hour and a half and I believe I stumbled a little because of my limited experience. However i got an offer and was asked to take a drug test that same day.I was then called for orientation a few days later.

I applied online and received a phonecall about ten days later where I was asked some quick questions. They called me back later that day to schedule an interview. Following that interview I was scheduled for another a few days later. I have not yet attended this interview. Staff is very friendly and nice and they just want to make sure you are a good fit for the company.

Interviewed for comp sales, the trick is to emphaize that you need to sell accessories with the computer, since that is where the profits are made, make sure you mention selling the extended warranties. Best Buy is big on theft prevention, so any question about theft should be answered that you would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law

I applied online a week later I got a phone call from one of the managers for a phone interview it went well he said he would call back if they were interested a few minutes late he called back set up interview for next day. Came in a little early met one of the managers from appliance department we talked about music and asked some wierd questions but easy. The interview was very relaxed and I had to do sales pitch(his pen) that went good. Next i signed papers for a background check, drug check, which days available to work he told me he wasnt sure which department i would be working in and so 10 minutes later after interview called ask set up another interview....
