Interviewed Nov 2011 in Burnaby, BC (Canada) (took a day)
Open house call for Seasonal team via CL post
no specifics of qualifications really given possibly only high school diploma and some retail experience
interviewed done by a team on a first come first served basis
overheard one young interviewer telling an older candidate that the nature of that job did not favor women, i guess he was referring to merchandising
during interview manager really wanted to know "why best buy"
also asked about background knowledge of bb including its affiliation with future shop
went through resume
asked about weaknesses
manager did not divulge nature of job, duration or pay rate
upon more probing manager was insistent on the ENERGY in the place
little interview protocal or etiquette, definitely a screeening interview even though manager stated that it was a first and second interview combined
other questions: how do you deal with stress?

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Burnaby, BC (Canada) (took 2 weeks)
I first received a phone call from the HR representative. This phone call was a pre-screen interview. Afterward our conversation she deemed I would be a good candidate to come in for a 1 to 1 interview with one of the senior managers. I went into the corporate office one week later and had a very straightforward interview which lasted one hour. The questions were aimed at determining my competency and skill level. I got along well with the interviewer. I was asked to hand in a mini-project which would demonstrate my abilities. After submitting that assignment, I received another phone call to come in again to meet with the National Manager. That interview took place about a week later, but didn't seem to go as well. The interviewer suggested that I was not cut out for the position. So, I assumed that was the end of any opportunity. However, a couple of weeks later I received a voicemail from the HR representative telling me that they were still in the process of making a decision and that I was still in "the mix" and that she would let me know of the next steps as the process went on. It's been about a month since that voicemail and I haven't heard anything back.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took 2 days)
The manger took me to the back room, asked me 10 questions, nothing too difficult. He wrote down the answers to my questions. It was a pretty laid back interview, it didn't feel like an interrogation or anything. I brought him a copy of my resume, and also he made me fill out an application.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 2 days)
Applied online, got a phone call one or two weeks later. It consisted of a fairly informal phone interview, asking things like why I wanted to work there, previous job experiences, what customer service meant to me, availability and expected salary. Was then scheduled for an in-store 1-on-1 interview. Waited around for a long time, then had to fill out an application (the usual stuff, personal info, past jobs, references, etc.), waited again, then the interview. Lasted maybe just under 10 minutes. Asked again about work experience, what I liked about the job, why I wanted to work there. Then I got the job!

Online Test, phone interview then two one on one interviews. The questions in the book they use are dated. Kind of boring. Interviews were long and not organized.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took 3 weeks)
It was a phone interview with general questions and then a invitation to a 1:1 interview at the store. This interview was with some department supervisor I think. The store was at the Yorkdale mall and the interview was in a small room, I think the surveillance room. The questions were mainly general questions, why, how, the usb question (how many usb can be attached to a computer) and the irq question (irq for serial devices). Didn't get a call afterwards.

Interviewed Oct 2008 in Burnaby, BC (Canada) (took 1 week)
You first have to apply online through their website. You have to answer a series of multiple choice questions about whether you strongly agree or strongly disagree about such and such a statement. If you don't pick the right ones, you don't get called for a phone interview. You can reapply 1 month later. During phone interview, they ask you why you want to apply here and some other personal questions. At the end they will set a date for an interview with the supervisor of the department your applying for. During that interview, they give you a scene and you state what you would do. Its either a hit or miss for this. At the end of this session, they will either turn you down or schedule a final interview with the general manager. During interview with the general manager, he or she will ask a basic series of questions regarding your loyalty. Will you call this person out if they stole something as in expensive as a chocolate bar and such and such. Answer yes and shake hands. Your hired. They ask you whether XX dollars per hour is fair to you. At this point you can negotiate for higher if your older job pays more or your over qualified and etc. Next you do legal paper work and thats it.
