Interviewed Jun 2010 in Baldwin, NY (took 2 weeks)
It was very basic, Tough if ur not use to interviews, I breezed through it, Mgr said I blew her away and I was the best interview so far, she set me up with the GM for tomm, I think everything will go smooth. Just do ur Homework , they r big on stealing, Rem be prepared to answer situational questions, They asked me like 7 and they want specific detailed answers and they write it all down in there notes.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 2 weeks)
I applied for a couple positions (cashier and sales associate) at two different BB locations that are pretty close to where I live. I never heard from one, and got a call a few days ago from the other. There was a pretty basic phone interview (why do you want to work here, availability) and the manager set up a one-on-one interview a couple days later. This interview consisted mainly of situational questions, like "Describe a time when this happened" Basically theyre trying to see how you will handle customers and your general demeanor while you work. The interview was pretty quick; it only took about 15 minutes. Afterwards, she set me up with another interview with the GM, which will be in a couple days. Im hoping this is a good sign.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Hoover, AL (took a day)
I applied online. The personality test on the application is key... if you don't pass it it throws up a red flag and they will not call you for a interview. I was called just two days after putting in my application. I was interviewed very casually by the Operations Manager. She asked me very general questions about what I knew about the company, my past employers, and what I knew about electronics.
Alot of people say that they have multiple interviews, [and when I was laid off, re applied and was interviewed again the put me through two interviews, even though I knew the managers] but the first time I was hired. I just had one. The ops manager that interviewed me said that she thought I would be great for a position there, and she said she was going to discuss the GM. She right then walked into the office, told him about me, and offered me a job.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took 6 days)
The interview basically is three parts. The online application is considered step one, where the personality test is taken. From there, if you pass, you will be called in for a "second" interview with the store manager. Basic questions are asked there, really simple "say what they want" sort of thing. Third part is an interview with the General Manager to let you know if you're hired or not.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 3 weeks)
I don't exactly remember when I applied however they called me on a Thursday and asked me a few questions about why i wanna work at Best Buy and what not, and asked to have an interview for Saturday at 11:00. I had testing at this time so we made it for 12. When I got there the greeter directed me towards the interviewer and about 2 people were in front of me. I waited for about 30 minutes and then the manager called me in. He asked me questions about working with a team, and what products do i know the best and personality questions. So i was let of the interview, and got a call on the following tuesday for an interview on saturday. This was an interview with the General Manager and he asked questions about theft, and customer service. At the end of the interview he offered me a job as a cashier.

Interviewed Aug 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Interview was pretty easy, they asked me standard questions. I didn't like the personality test, though, I failed it the first time I took it just because I put one "Agree" instead of a "Strongly Agree".... FYI you're only supposed to put "Strongly Disagree" and "Strongly Agree" on those darned Unicru tests. They were nice enough to let me retake it but I don't understand what the point of the test is when it's so easy to fake your answers.

Interviewed Aug 2008 in Boston, MA (took 5 days)
The interview is pretty straight forward, they ask the basic questions, why do you want to work here, why should we hire you, tell me about your last job, tell me about your supervisors, what goals do you have in mind, etc. I answered truthfully and straightforward, I wanted to work at Best Buy because it's a great environment, they're very customer oriented and passionate about customer service. I told them about the duties of my last job and how my experience there applied to here and it was very fun interview process. He never got back to me though and he went on a honeymoon so I assumed they weren't interested in me...

I applied online at the best buy website and then followed up with the store manager to which I had applied. Then they called me back in about 2 days and I was called in for an interview. with basic questions like "How do you feel about customer service?" "Try to sell me this pen" and etc. Basically it was a pretty easy interview.

Had a quick phone interview and then had a 1:1 interview scheduled for the following week. I was asked to bring in a resume, references and my college schedule. Interview went fairly well, at the end I was told that there are 36 people interviewing for 4 positions and that I should hear back within 3 days.
