Interviewed Oct 2011 in Richmond, VA (took 2 days)
I was asked scenario based questions that mostly dealt with integrity in the workplace. Example, should an employee be reported for taking a stick of gum. I was also asked about my previous job experience, how I deal with conflict and why do I want to work for this company.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in West Hartford, CT (took 2 weeks)
I first had a phone interview and was asked to come in for an interview. Went to that one. She asked basic customer service questions. She emphasized a lot on how best buy is all about customer service and getting the customers to come back. At the end of the interview, she offered me the position and said I will be meeting with the GM to confirm everything. I met with the GM and he asked me questions about if I saw a friend stealing what would I do? The answer they want is that you would rat them out. GM offered me the position and told me to do a drug test and I will get a call when the results came in.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Flushing, NY (took 1 week)
Started the hiring process by taking the Personality Test online. Figured out the trick to and finally got a call from Best Buy. The lady was nice and super excited to have called me. Asked availability questions and one including "What would you do if you caught a co-worker stealing from the company?", "What do you think is the best action a company should take towards theft by employees?" and "What I do in my free time?" she ended the call by giving me an appointment the following Monday.
Got to Best Buy and told an associate about my appointment. I was directed to the employee break room. There were others scheduled before and after my interview. Waited here until I was called for by the GM. I was taken to the conference room and found stacks of paper on the table. Thought the papers were there to make the room look like it was a busy place. Handing in my resume, even though I didn't need to, impressed him a lot.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 5 days)
The interview process was simple and to the point. First the online assessment takes a while, but is extremely important. They want to make sure you would be a good match for the company.
They called and did an informal phone interview, more or less asking about availability. I was then set up with an interview with the department manager.
The interview with the department manager with fairly standard, mostly asking questions about previous employers, and why I want to work for them. They are very big on team work, and customer service. She immediately told me that she would love to have me on their team, but as a formality I will have to have an interview with the GM first.
I had the interview with the GM a couple of days later. He was extremely friendly, and went through the basic asset protection questions to make sure I wasn't going to steal anything. We then moved into a pretty open conversation about his past with the company, and my work experience. He then offered me a position, gave me the paperwork for a drug test, and said someone would contact me in a week to set up orientation.

Interviewed May 2010 in Martinsburg, WV (took 3 weeks)
I applied online and received a phone call from an hourly manager, but wasn't available. I called her back,. but she had gone home for the day. I never got a call back from her so I decided to call he back 3 days later. I spoke with her and she was very tude and said she wasn't doing phone interviews at them moment and would call me back that afternoon. Never got a call. Again, 3 days past and I called her back. She said she would be calling later. She actually did call that day....about a week after the intiial call. Did a short phone interview asking me why I wante to work for Best Buy and why I would be a good employee. She liked my interview and asked me to schedule an interview with the HR manager...for the SAME day. Went it, everyone seemed very nice. I went to the back offices and ended up waiting about 20 minuted for the manager. Oh, and I should add the associate at the front station pointed him out when I walked in. And he wasn't busy. Did the typical interview, not too bad. He ended the interview saying typically will call you back within the week. If nothing, we don't want you. Then added, but if you tink you should be gettin g a call, call us. I still don't know what that meant. I never got a call. I should add that I am a former Circuit City employee of 4 years.
