Interview Details – Interview process began with internal recruiter phone interview. Lasted about 30 minutes. Questions mostly about customer service and P & L responsibilities. Next step was video interview with hiring District Manager which lasted for almost an hour. Used a standard Best Buy Interview guide and asked lots of situational questions. Told I would receive follow-up communication but failed to get any feedback. Expected that after face to face interview.

Interview Details – Split up into a 3 step process. First there usually is a over the phone interview. After that there are two face to face interviews with one manager and one supervisor. The application part is done online at their website and they ask you to specify which location to apply at, my advice, when they ask whether you want to get calls about different locations, say yes because you might not get hired where you want but you still have chances elsewhere.

Interview Details – Not much hiring from outside the company for General Manager. Generally if someone is applying for General Manager from outside, they would start as an Assistant to begin to ensure they can learn the culture, daily rhythms, and performance management cycles. Externally interviews are screened by HR managers, but then interviews are completed by market General Managers and District Staff members to begin with, and then ultimately the District Manager. External candidates who do research on the market they are applying for, and/or the company are definitely seen as stronger candidates.

Interview Details –
I cannot stress professionalism when it comes to the interview for Project Team Specialist, or any position within the Project Team. Most Field Deployment Managers look for highly-motivated, physically able, hard workers who are not only good at working with their hands for long periods of time, but also good with communication skills technology.
They DO drug test, but only pre-employment, so be clean. I would recommend highlighting technical, communication and leadership skills in the interview.
Interview Question – This will vary, I have interviewed with two FDMs and several Best Buy managers, the questions are largely different every time. Answer Question
