Negotiation Details – No negotiation
Best Buy Mobile Sales Associate Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Best Buy.
Interview Details – Applied online. Got called 3 days later to come in for an interview. Interviewed with a department manager. She then asked me to come in for another interview with the GM on Tuesday. Had interview with GM, it went pretty good, he said they'll call by Monday. So now I'm just playing the waiting game.
Interview Question – General interview questions. Answer Question
Best Buy Sales Consultant Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in June 2014.
Interview Details – I applied online for a position at a local best buy, I then received a phone call (first interview) a week and a half later. After the phone interview I was scheduled for an interview 2 days later. The interview process was easy, normal questions about how would you attend to a customer and about my work history and duties there. After that interview it took them about 2 weeks to get a call back to meet the GM. He asked questions about my job history, what type of manager do I see as an ideal manager, he offered me the job there and I waited for the offer on its bestbuy job site.
Interview Question – How would I deal with multiple customers on a busy sales floor when you know your current customer is indecisive about their purchase. View Answer
Negotiation Details – I applied to multiple stores, different position, I did speak about the pay with the GM at the end of the interview, I took his store since I was beyond satisfied with the offer.
Sales Consultant Apple Specialist Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
The process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in January 2014.
Interview Details – I applied online and they called me in the next few days!
I had three interviews in total. First one with the HR, second one with the computer department manager, third one with the General manager! Fairly easy they were all friendly, they just asked some behavioral and situational questions! Some times between interviews one may feel like it's taking long, but just be patient and it will happen thought time
- 1. First one phone interview with the HR. Obvious questions you would expect from an HR: availability, what positions did you apply for, do you have customer service experience! Answer Question
- 2. Second one With the department manager, I I had in my previous jobs, what challenges I have encountered, what if questions: what if someone stole something, what is you encounter a very angry customer, have you ever worked with a very difficult person, have you ever had a difficult problem; how did you solve it? Answer Question
- 3. Third one was with the General manager, similar questions with the department. More behavioral and situational Questions, just answer them honestly and don't overthink your answers, go with the flow and just make conversations! Answer Question
Negotiation Details – It was very easy, just chill and take it easy and don't over do things
Merchandising Specialist Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Best Buy in August 2010.
Interview Details – It was a group interview with about 10-15 other candidates who applied for various positions. Two employees conducted the interview and asked situational questions (e.g. what would you do if…?). There were also various exercises that involved choosing merchandise from the store, bringing it back to the interview room, and describing what it does or how to use it. Overall, I can see the reasoning behind this interview technique, but in my personal experience I felt it was poorly implemented.
Interview Question – No questions were truly difficult, but I will say in my case it was extremely frustrating when 'hot girl' or 'guy who seems fun to party with' gets all the attention from the less-than-professional interviewers. Answer Question
Sales Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in July 2014.
Interview Details – Has been relatively quick and professional. Received tour of store and was overall a very positive experience. I am impressed with the promptness and timeliness in response to be interviewed.
Interview Question – Some questions are multi-part questions. View Answer

Interview Question – How would you handle an unruly customer during black Friday? Answer Question
Retail Sales Consultant Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3+ weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in June 2014.
Interview Details – First Interview was with future supervisor and the second was with the GM with roughly the same questions. Really easy interview but my biggest complaint was that the haring process took very long. sometimes i wouldn't hear back from them in almost a week.
Interview Question – How do you feel about stealing and what would you do if you caught someone stealing. Another employee? Answer Question
Assistant Store Manager Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Best Buy in August 2010.
Interview Details – Broken and unorganized. Nobody really knew what was going on and the room was a mess. Very bad way to represent your company. I need more words so this should get me over the limit.
Interview Question – Give a situation when... Not what would you do if. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No
Geek Squad Consulting Agent Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Best Buy in July 2014.
Interview Details – It went fairly well. I had the first interview with two members of the geek squad and they asked basic questions like "why best buy?" and "explain a time...". After that I got a call back about 3 days later for a second job interview with the GM. The GM asked me some questions an employee were to approach like "what is your view on stealing?" I'm still waiting on a call, but I have a feeling I didn't get it because I heard they would offer you the position to start right on the spot.
