I applied online, and received a call back within an hour. The recruiter was very informative, personable, and helpful. She asked me several questions, and then offered to answer any questions I had. She gave me detailed info regarding when and how she would get back to me. She followed through the next week to let me know that I didn't get the position, but that I would be considered for several future positions.

After submitting the online application, I received a call within in 3 days on a Sunday. We set up an interview for the next morning on Monday, and the interview went well. She asked questions from a worksheet and she wrote down my response. The questions were related to customer service, and why work at Best Buy. They called my about an hour after I left the retail. We set up another interview for Wednesday, this time with a higher position. She asked questions about theft, management leadership, and previous work experience. She offered me the job after the drug test has been cleared.

Applied online for a job at Best Buy. I received a call about 5 days after applying, to set up an interview with a manager. The manager was friendly and the interview was easy with basic questions about previous work experience, and how I'd provide excellent customer service. This only took about 20-30 minutes. After the interview, the manager told me he liked the interview, and so he had me set up another interview with the store manager. The second interview only took like 10 minutes and was really easy. The store manager offered me a job right after the interview.

I applied online and was called back about 2-3 days later. The interview was scheduled for about a week later and went great. The department head was very nice and laid back. After the interview he went to find the general manager to do my second interview the same day. Unfortunately he/she was not there. I spent the next month and a half calling the department head who either planned an the interview or promised to call me later. The interviews always planned through and no matter how much I called, he seemed to never call back when he promised. Eventually the position got filled up and I was passed up.

Interview consisted of scripted questions out of a packet. All were in the form of " Tell me a time when" format. I was able to ask questions at the end of the interview. I interviewed only with the GM.
When I had the opportunity to ask questions, I was shocked at the perplexed answers I received from the GM. In one instance he was not even able to answer the question "Please describe your corporate culture". This GM had been in his role for 11 years and was living high on the hog. I talked to one of his current managers and he indicated to me that this GM only works 4 days a week.
I was not chosen for the position.
I think not being offered this position was a blessing in disguise.
Overall I am not impressed by the level of expertise, professionalism, and business acumen that best buy GM's possess.

I did a brief phone interview which consisted of mainly availability questions and when I could come in for a in person interview. I didn't even consider it an interview.
I then went in for a in person interviw with a Dept manager. He asked me:

Describe a situation where you went above and beyond to meet a customers needs?
