Interview Details – I was in between jobs and decided to give Best buy a chance. The Online app was very typical to fill out. it took me about 25 minutes to complete. Upon completion, i called best buy and spoke to hiring manager who then scheduled an interview date. The day of interview I show up early and wait and hour and 30 minutes due to his scheduling issues. I finally made it in to his office which was a tiny dirty "Storage Closet". We proceded with the interview which i thought went never well. I was told i would get a call from him whether i got the job or not. I never received a call and called back a week later and he stated and i quote "Oh, we already filled the position". I was pretty bummed but happy in the long run because i got a better job down the road. I defiantly feel like i was over qualified for the job!
Interview Question – It was a very base interview. The most "difficult" question was Sell me this pen. View Answer

Interview Details –
Applied for the job, got a call a few days later. This is considered the first interview and generally cover your availability as well as whether you still want the job, but most importantly to see if you sound confident. I scheduled an interview for the next day. Made sure to dress well, white button down shirt and khakis as well as dress shoes.
Showed up for the interview 15 minutes early as expected of any interview, and met with a supervisor. This was the second interview, and one of the important ones, as this will determine whether I'm worth getting to the final interview. I sat down with him, and we talked about availability and how I would fit in with them, as well as my experience and what my job duties were at my previous employment. That went on for a good 30 mins or so and after going to the back room for a few minutes, he came back out and scheduled the next interview two days later.
Showed up for the last interview dressed the same, and spoke with the general manager. This is where they decide if you get the job or not. Generally answered the same questions as before, and he asked about what I knew about the store as well as my hobbied. By the end he said that since I had sales experience, which is extremely important for Best Buy, as well as a good knowledge of computers (I told him I had a MacBook and an HP laptop, and I wanted to learn more about Linux as well.) He was going to hire me for Computers. After that the basic instruction sheet with next steps and how employment is contingent upon background check and drug test, and that I'd get the offer after that's done.
Just come off confident, and try to talk about what you like about electronics as well as what you're most knowledgeable in. I had originally applied for Multi-Channel Sales Associate but was then put in Computers based on my knowledge. Just because you may not be the right fit for one job doesn't mean they won't try to find a place for you, just be confident and dress well and show that you can learn fast and can sell.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in San Jose, CA May 2013 – Reviewed May 30, 2013
Interview Details –
One interview was over the phone, the other with the store manager. Basic interview was on situational questions like: "Describe a time when you had to go above and beyond at work. Why do you want to work at Best Buy Mobile"?
They expect people who are interviewed to come well dressed, enthusiastic, and with some knowledge of their products. I actually applied to Best Buy Mobile, and they did ask me what kind of phone I used, why I like it, and what were the differences between Android and iOS. They are quite fast about their interview process. No nonsense or a lot of probing. If they like you, they'll take you in on the spot and ask you to take a drug test that same day. Be prepared with additional identification.
Interview Question – If you caught an employer stealing a pen, what would you do? View Answer
Negotiation Details – No negotiation. They did pay a little more than minimum wage, with a chance to move on to being a sales lead depending on performance. Hours are based on performance.

afterward they will call if you get an interview.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Syracuse, NY Sep 2012 – Reviewed May 29, 2013
Interview Details – Hiring was a pretty straight forward process. First interview is with a manager, and is to test the waters on how you will hold up as a person. Being kind and friendly is always good here but remember that you are also applying for a job. Notes will be taken and reviewed from a packet. I got a call about 30 min after my first interview inviting me to a second one. The second one was with the manager of the department I was applying for. This is where the serious, "so why should I hire you?" questions come into play. After that they will either call for a third interview, which is to see if you want the job, or wait for you to call them. Best advice is to build a good report with the manager and write his name down, so when you call ask specifically for him.
Interview Question – The most difficult question that was asked was how well I believe i would work in a team environment, and what I could do to contribute to such and environment. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Negotiation was almost nonexistent. It was per-printed packets that were already per-evaluated for someone with no to little experience.
No Offer – Interviewed in Tinley Park, IL Jul 2012 – Reviewed May 22, 2013
Interview Details – Best Buy does not seem to have hiring the best applicant for the position in mind, at least in my case. I am 55, have 30 years of excellent retail sales and management skills and was simply looking to sell a passion of mine; high end audio equipment in the Magnolia Room. The first interview was with a substitute for the store manager. He was cold but efficient and asked pertinent questions. I stressed my strengths and skill. I also spoke of my salary needs and was told that it is out of line for their structure. I agreed to aquiesce. I offered no resistance. I received a call for a second interview and returned to speak with a second in charge of the Tinley Park, Il store. That went fine as well. It was with the second in charge of the store; it seems the manager was perpetually on vacation? Hard to say really. I never heard back from them. I was truly shocked. It seems highly unlikely someone would be more prepared to roll up their sleeves and give great service than me.
Interview Question – There were no difficult questions; the process and questions asked were straightforward and fair. I have no qualms about the interview process being a good one. It just may have poor outcomes for them, at times. Answer Question

Applied online, they got back to me within a couple of weeks.
Had two interviews, was hired on the spot. Typical questions were asked, nothing that really stood out. The interview process is nothing to be worried about, just know answers to questions like, "When was a time you worked best as a team?"
Interview Question – There wasn't a question that was too difficult or unexpected. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation, paid higher than I originally asked regardless.
