good working culture. Hiring process is through GATE and interview. I was called for interview in mumbai and I was asked basic questions like tell me about yourself your family and as far as technical is concerned they just asked about transistors and mosfets which are like pretty basic q uestions

    They asked about general engineering concepts. Internship had to be explained in detail. It was a 4:1 panel interview. Initial shortlisting was done on the basis of graduation marks. They were also interested in general awareness of the candidates and hence asked questions about current affairs as well. Questions from subjects which were related to the work which is done in the company were asked. They tried to see whether the candidate can apply his theoretical learning into practical environment.

    No negotion is possible. Public sector companies have fixed Cost to Company package. It is same irrespective of the college from which you have graduated. Even having done M.Tech. doesn't offer any advantage over B.Tech. candidates.

    BHEL takes entrance test at All India level. If you are having more than 65% throughout academic career then you can apply.

    This written test paper is having 250 questions and time limit is 2h30min, paper is having technical(from electronics,electrical,mechanical) as well as aptitude questions.
    After that they will call selected candidates for interview at different places according to candidate's convenience like Mumbai,Calcutta,Delhi,Bangalore etc.

    At the time of interview transportation cost is given by company. Other facilities like lunch and tea,coffee are also available.Document verification was also done before interview.

    Interview Panel consists five persons.Two technical person, two HR person and one psychologist.
    They start with general questions to make you relax and after that they ask technical questions and in the end they ask questions like why do you want to join this company, expectations from company.
    Usually they interview for 20-30 mins.

    Actually the procedure changed. Now they are taking students based on Gate scores and then the interview round is mostly work ex. related if you have a decent work ex. Else, they might concentrate more on aptitude questions. Generally, they hire every one selected in till the interview round.
