Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
The interview process went well. BlackRock interviews are different and less structured than other financial services companies. It made it easy to tell my story and control the direction of the interview. I would give myself an A rating for the interview. Unfortunately, when I heard back about a second round, BlackRock informed me that rather than not being selected for a second round, they were not looking to fill the position any more.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Los Angeles, CA (took 1+ week)
Interviewed on campus first round, the guy was really nice, asked only behavioral questions. Super Day in the San Francisco office - there were 5 interviews, all the interviewers were very nice and asked only behavioral questions. Some questions were the same because I don't think they had planned out with each other what they were going to ask. Emphasized on why BlackRock.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
First round of interviews were on campus and mostly behavioral. They were looking for people who emphasized desired to work and learn technology since the role is very tech focused. Second round was a week later and consisted of 1 on 1 interviews with 3 people. Also mostly behavioral, asked about familiarity with various technological platforms and some technical questions (duration, convexity...). Got the offer 3 days later.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
Blackrock were on campus and held an initial interview. This was a basic behavioral interview with some programming questions. After this, I was selected to go on-site for the next round. I had 3 interviews here and they were all very different. One was about programming, one about problem-solving and the third was conversational. I did not get the offer.

Interview Questions
Also basic bond questions on duration, convexity, etc.
