First interview is a general behavioral interview.
Second interview is at their office in Skillman. You take a tour, eat lunch with HR and the other interviewees. Then you have 2 interviews, 1 1:1 interview and another 2:1 interview. General questions about resume, interest in Bloomberg, and general current events about the market.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 2 weeks)
I was contacted by email regarding an interview, one for each of the following weeks. They were pretty standard phone interviews, running through my resume and then asking me about myself and why I was interested in Bloomberg.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 weeks)
I applied online through carreer web page. The response came soon, however during my holiday, so we have arranged a phone call on next week on the day we agreed, but no confirmation mail/phone contact for the person who should make an interview with me was sent... Unfortunately, waiting for that call was a waste of my time, seems the communication between HR is not that efficient... But I decided, not to let go so fast and after several phone calls to Bloomberg, which was pretty exhausting, I finally received mail with details on interview.
Interview was pretty short (10min), I felt like being in a hurry. Typical HR questions: why do you want to work for Bloomberg? What do you know about Bloomberg? What is the difference between fixed income and equity... type of question about which you can speak for a long time and from different aspects...but you simply dont know what would satisfy the interviewer. I would appreciate to have the interview in a more dialog form, not question and 2 min response times 5.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 2+ weeks)
Had very relevant internship experience, applied online. Contacted for phone interview within 2 days. Had 2 phone interviews in ~10 days. Both a half hour, straight forward - Background, why Bloomberg, why Data, what is Bloomberg, why Bloomberg, why Data, why Bloomberg some more. Then talk about financial market knowledge - have a few recent market stories to talk about...ipos, m&a, whatever.
Final round on site for a couple panel interviews. Interviewers' styles were all across the board - casual conversational to apathetic to condescending. Wasn't really impressed with all the managers doing the interviewing. Questions: resume, experiences, strengths, why bloomberg, what is bloomberg, why bloomberg. Nothing you've never heard before. Was annoyed having to spend 40% of the interview still answering 'why bloomberg' in a final round.
Overall, kudos to HR for being very fast and having a well developed efficient process. Only detractors were some of the interviewers. Nice office, good company.

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
Phone Interview on basic questions such as why should we hire you; What do you think is your weakness; What skills do you think you have that will allow you to excel at this position, etc.
After that, I got invited to a group interview. Around 20+ people. Began with an introduction of the Global Data Program, and then proceeded with the group interview. Groups of 4 discussing topics such as Is accuracy or timeliness more important.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Skillman, NJ (took 4+ weeks)
I first had an interview at the career center at my school. About two weeks later, I was notified by email to come into the office for another round of interviews. My second round interview consisted of 2, 2 on 1 interviews that lasted about 45 minutes each. They mainly asked about my previous work experience, leadership positions, and why I feel I would be qualified to hold the job. Overall, it was not a very technical process. I would know current information about the market (they asked me about a few major transactions that were occurring at the time). The other thing I can recommend is to know about Bloomberg and what they do. Be able to explain this well, as they will almost definitely ask about this as well.

Interviewed May 2010 in Paterson, NJ (took 2 weeks)
Do not waste your time for the division out in NJ. You will realize how your "managers" only got in when the market was doing well years ago. In other words, they truly do not know the markets or the financial industry. People who have degrees in everything but finance (comical at best) will try to talk down to you during the interview process or even during the interview show a complete lack of interest and contempt while you are there. I would recommend that if you realize that you know more than your future boss, you should leave and leave fast. For example, the genius that was interviewing me did not know what I was talking about and began to give an attitude and show a complete lack of interest simply because he realized he just embarrassed himself from his own question. My recommendation is that if you seek to get into the financial industry, go where the management actually knows finance and can cultivate your growth. Too many people there (managers) are there that are washed up and never truly made it in finance, aka, people who once did financial sales at Scottrade or alike...
