Interviewed Jan 2012 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4+ weeks)
I applied to Bloomberg via their web page and was very surprised that they got back to me in a short period. I think it took about 2 weeks for them to invite me for the first phone interview.
The first interview was conducted by a HR person who asked me the basic motivational questions:
- Tell me about yourself and your experience?
- What do you know about Bloomberg?
- Why did you apply for this position and Bloomberg?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- Why do you want to work with finance?
However, in addition to the basic motivational questions I was also asked what I knew about the position (what is it that a data analyst for the global data funds department does and why? ) and if I knew what the current events on the financial markets.
I am very happy to say that I passed the first interview and got the second interview shortly after. So far I have had four interviews with four different managers at Bloomberg. For the other three interviews the questions were very similar to the above mentioned ones. My advice for anyone who has an interview with Bloomberg is to practice on the motivational questions but also do your research for the position you have applied for and make sure to be up to date with the current happenings on the financial markets.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in New York, NY (took a day)
The hiring manager called and asked a series of questions after giving a brief job requirement. The questions were good and they obviously were prepared for the interview. I found the hiring manager to be a bit abrasive in his mannerism.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
Initial phone interview was very short, just wanted me to run through my resume and explain why I wanted to work for Bloomberg. Was contacted a few days later and invited to the NYC office for a group interview with about 50 other kids. I interviewed with 2 people for 30 minutes each and was mainly asked behavioral questions (how would you deal with this situation, tell me about a time you failed, etc.) but also asked to explain the 2008 financial crisis and what was currently going on in the market. Thought it went well but didn't get an offer

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 3 days)
Applied to the non-computer science position. Prior to interview, I took an online assessment that contained fairly simple logic problems. Went through three rounds of interviews with software engineers and one with HR. Questions began with the usual "why do you want to work at Bloomberg" and progressed to primarily involve logic and coming up with algorithms to solve problems.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in New York, NY (took 4+ weeks)
I was directed to apply online through my university career website. A couple weeks after I applied, I received an email asking me when I was free for a 15 min phone interview. I set it up for a week later, and it consisted of a few basic questions such as Why Bloomberg? That night itself I received an email inviting me to a regional final round interview event a week later. They took care of flights and put me in a really nice hotel. The event had around 25-30 kids there. All the event consisted of was a presentation on the company and terminal and a 30 minute interview with two people. The questions were basic such as Why sales? and What makes a good salesmen? They also asked about what financial news I was following, so be prepared for that. I received a phone call with an offer about a week later.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 months)
Interview was long as I had my phone interview in November and then was invited for onsite interview in december. the final round interview was then end of January. the phone interview was straight forward and was more on my background and interests on bloomberg. Whilst the onsite interview consisted of two seniors from each department then on the final interview it was with managers of the departments. again focus was on my background but also commercial awareness. since the euro zone crises was new, i was asked on what i understood about it.
at first i had a really positive feeling of Bloomberg and had heard good things about the work environment and the people. but having seen for myself and spent time with the people, I realised its only the new people that were good to work with but some managers (if not all) were very rude and arrogant even global compared to when i worked in a top investment bank. it clearly made sense why most people that joined them only stayed a few months and moved to better companies. Bloomberg is simply used as a foot in to the banking industry ( or during recession to get any job to pay the bills).

Interviewed Aug 2010 (took a day)
Warm welcome to the office along with several other applicants. Interviewing panel was introduced to us, along with a quick introduction of the company.
The group was broken up into smaller groups where we were asked to introduce ourselves. We were then interviewed in groups, asked questions with regard to our backgrounds, experience, languages spoken, etc. The interviewers were very open with regards to the requirements and expectations for the job, and fielded questions well.
