Applied online and was called back to schedule a phone interview with the bureau in Singapore (am based in London for studies). Interview was straight-forward and consisted of questions about Bloomberg as well as my experiences and CV. Progressed to 2.5 hour writing test which was arranged for in London. Was unsuccessful.

I was invited to the second round of the interview. The HR recruiter was very friendly and gave some tips along the way. Prepare yourself for questions which are very customer-oriented for the second round.

I got a phone call from the HR department. She is very friendly and helpful, asked me typical interview questions and answers all my doubts. After less than a week i received an email to a hiring event. The event was okay, the host seems very fake and cocky to me.

Application for the position of Financial Sales and Analytics was done through Bloomberg's official website, and I received via e-mail, to attend a group interview session about 2.5 months after submission of my job application. The e-mail came around 3-4 days prior to the scheduled interview.

The entire interviewing process includes 4 rounds, with the first being the group interview whereby a group of applicants would be asked to individually step up onto a stage to describe themselves in 2 minutes; questions that needed answering were 1. Why did you choose Bloomberg 2. Why did you choose this specific position and 3. What can you offer Bloomberg. After everyone had given their 2 minute speech, applicants were spit up into 4 groups to discuss and provide solutions in the form of a short presentation for a case question provided.

Had a phone interview with HR, went through the basic fare of HR qns; understanding of the requirements of the job, understanding of the company, basic skills, run thru CV etc.

One on one interview was similar, but more in depth. Mostly fit qns, like why do I want to work for Bloomberg, what do I know abt the company, what do I know abt the position. etc. Some situational qns, like what if this happened at work, what would you do. I had a qns on a client wanting some information on data, and he's fuming, what would I do. etc.

Generally alright, but just didn't get a good vibe on the company, most friends who used to work there discouraged me from even applying. Interviews didn't seem too interested in the company, they're more interested in grilling me. Asked them what made them excited abt what they're doing, didn't get a convincing answer.

Bloomberg only accepts online application. If your resume matches the job requirement, the recruitment team will set you up for initial interview or a recruitment. As for me, I attended a recruitment event with 12 other applicants who were asked to present in a group. Thereafter a group interview followed by a 2 on 1 interview.
