Clinique Sales Consultant Interview

Clinique Sales Consultant

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Bloomingdale's in December 2009.

Interview Details – There are two levels involved in the interview process for this type of position. You will be working for not only Bloomingdale's as a Sales Associate, but also for the cosmetic vendor, in this case Clinique. You will first meet with the ASM (Area Sales Manager) of the Cosmetics Department. Your second interview will with either a representative of Clinique, or the Human Resources Manager of the store in which you applied. Helpful advice: prove that you are aware of meeting and exceeding sales goals, maintaining and growing customer relationships and you have no problem asking each and every customer to open up a store charge card.

Negotiation Details – There was no room for negotiation. I was told what the hourly rate was, plus given a 3% commission. Performance after one year increased my salary by 0.93 cents.
