I applied online and interviewed at Bloomingdale's.
Interview Details – applied online and was contacted by hr soon after. super unorganized interview process. had to travel to chicago and come in i believe 5 different times to meet everyone and be interviewed by them. By the time i was interviewed by the head hr manager we sat down, she opened my file and asked me what position i was interviewing for because she didn't even know! And as if that wasn't bad enough, after I told her I was interviewing for SMT, she goes on to tell me that oh well unfortunately I just filled all the SMT positions (whyyy was I there then I have no idea). When all was said and done, I was offered a Specialist position with the promise that opportunities to become SMT would arise quickly in the future. LIE. after working there for about 10 months and being completely miserable I finally quit because this company is the definition of micro-management and you will have absolutely no life if you work there. I couldnt even get a simple weekend off for my siblings wedding.

In the end, she told me she had no part time positions for the position i was looking for and she would keep my application pending. She gave me her card and told me to contact her.

Interview Details – I applied online at the store website and a week later I received an e-mail wanting to schedule an interview with me. I couldn't attend the interview on the date that they assigned me. (They only gave me one date with several time slots and the date was 4 days after I received the e-mail. I waited for another week to see if they have a different time slots and I finally got to schedule an interview with them) I arrived at the HR and waited for a little bit until the HR manager called me. She asked me basic questions related to the resume I submit online, nothing difficult. Then she asked me if I could stay and talk to the handbag manager in a little bit. I stayed and got another interview with the handbag manager whom asked me a couple of scenario questions and customer service related questions. Again, nothing difficult. Both interviews took about 20 minutes each.

Interview Details – There are two levels involved in the interview process for this type of position. You will be working for not only Bloomingdale's as a Sales Associate, but also for the cosmetic vendor, in this case Clinique. You will first meet with the ASM (Area Sales Manager) of the Cosmetics Department. Your second interview will with either a representative of Clinique, or the Human Resources Manager of the store in which you applied. Helpful advice: prove that you are aware of meeting and exceeding sales goals, maintaining and growing customer relationships and you have no problem asking each and every customer to open up a store charge card.
