Interviewed Apr 2011 in Miami, FL (took 2 days)
A couple of days after posting my resume and cover letter to the company's website I was called in for an interview. I was not interviewed for the department I applied for. I was offered to go to another department, which was fine with me at the time. They wanted to get to know me and my experiences relevant for the position. I interviewed with the human resource manager, the group manager (my bosses boss), and manager of the department. Very nice place to work. Appearance is everything. One thing that is a big deal which they dont emphasis on is that all sales associates are responsible to maintain multiples of clients. Example: I had 100 clients and it was not good enough. So good luck. Bloomingdales was a nice environment and worth the experience.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
I interviewed for a position at the Soho Bloomingdale's location in New York City. It was a basic one on one interview conducted in a small room in the basement of the store.
The recruiter was reading the questions from a sheet of paper.
"You have a customer who is dissatisfied, how do you handle the situation"?
"What is your idea of customer service"?
I felt I answered all of the questions well. However, this store location has a very youthful vibe and I was fairly certain I would not be offered a job here and was not surprised when no offer was forthcoming.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
I was contacted by email to schedule an interview over the phone. After the basic questions about my prior experience and skills in retail, I was asked to come in and meet with HR. My HR interview was about my prior work experience and if I had ever been fired or had disciplinary actions, then they decided to place me in a department they thought I would work best in. I met with the manager of that department who talked to me about why I would make a good fit, and then I was told to come back later in the day to talk with the divisional head for the department. I met with them about my past experience and what I wanted out the job and why I would be a good fit, and then was told to come back the next day so the manager could extend an official offer to me. It was a very simple process, and just make sure you know certain retail terms, like commission and clientele and you'll be fine.

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
The interview begins with a group one that includes a person from HR. If you pass the first round, you go on to the next which would consist of managers from departments that you've expressed interest in to be placed. There's also a possibility of an interview with another head honcho (but not the General Manager). Overall, it was breezy if you have an outgoing personality. Introverted people will have a more difficult time as opposed to those who are extroverted and energetic.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
Met with the head of HR, as well as one of the floor managers and her supervisor. The HR manager was very personable, and asked questions about how I approach the retail experience. For example, he asked me why I wanted to work with the company and what my interpretation is of a client versus a customer. In my next interview with the manager of the floor on which I desired to work, she asked me questions regarding the store and my perception of what it would be like to work there. Because I was referred to this company by an employee, we also talked about some of the insights she had given me in regards to the job. My third interview was with one of the store's sales managers, which was a little intimidating because I knew she held a position very close to the top of the totem pole. My interview with her was similar to the interview I had with the HR manager, in that she asked me a series of questions. She asked me to tell her about a time when I was helping a number of customers at once, and how I managed it. She also asked me to tell her about a time I met a sales goal, a time I was unsatisfied with my performance, and so on and so forth.
