Interviewed Jan 2012 in Saint Louis, MO (took 4+ weeks)
Phone Interview - Lasted 1 hour. Typical behavioral style of questions. They are looking for STAR answers.
i.e. Tell me about a time when......
Knowing the limited information you know about the job, describe to me the ideal person for this role?
Panel Interview - Consisted of 3 people asking about 3-4 behavioral questions each. Have STAR answers that pertain to each of the job description competencies.
Be ready to describe yourself as a person, not just a suit sitting across from the panelist.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took a day)
first came a phone call from an assistant, then a couple weeks later a phone interview. Three managers present and rotated through asking questions. 6 or 7 questions were asked using star method, which suprised me as there is usually 4 or 5. My experience was more aerodynamic related and limited in structures, so it was difficult to relate my experience in that respect, which is why i didn't get the job. Wasn't the best interview i've had, prefer person to person, took three to four weeks to learn a decision.

Just a phone interview and got hired.

The hiring manager was nice, but negotiation is with HR, bad experience. Here's my advice. If a company nickles and dimes you at hiring, you can bet that's how they will be treating you after you are hired in, when it comes the time for your salary review or promotion.

Panel was friendly and non-invasive. Personal interested, outside interests talked about to "lighten" the interview process. Questions and answers were professional and courteous.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Huntsville, AL (took 1 week)
I completed the inital candidate profile on the Boeing Career Site and set up a search agent. I applied to the position and was contacted via email by Boeing Human Resources to complete a more detailed application before the inital phone inteview. The Human Resources rep set up the phone interview two days after I applied for the position. The inteview was with the hiring manager and both the functional and program manager. Second inteview was a panel interview on site.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 5 days)
Bowing uses structured panel interviews using the STAR method (Situation, Tasks/Actions, Results). As I applied for an internal position, I already was familiar with the process. Questions include: work history, diversity, team-building, working with others, etc. Most are not difficult. The problem is that many applicants tell a story and don't finish it, or tie it together well. If you do that, and listen carefully, it seems to work well.

Negotiation Details
Very little ability to negotiate. The salary is calculated on market tables, and its especially difficult for current employees to negotiate anything. Overall, it went well. But could have gone much better.

Interviewed May 2011 in Huntsville, AL (took 1 week)
Submitted resume via Boeing careers website in March. Called in early May for interview. Interviewed with panel of 2 managers. Behaviorial questions to be answered in STAR format. 4 questions. Be sure to have specific examples ready to discuss. It would a be a good idea to be familiar with the competencies of the position because this is what the questions were structured around.
