The interview process is fairly quick here. First a recruiter contacts you if they feel that your resume is a good fit for the position. It usually last a hour long. Depending on your recruiter, he or she may prepare you for the next step during the phone interview which is an on-site interview. The on-site interview occurs in the Mclean headquarters. It consited of three interviews with associates from the firm all from different capabilities. You speak to each for about thirty minutes about your background and why you want to work at BAH. It is very conversational and nothing difficult is asked. Within a week, the recruiter called me with an offer.

Met with the Senior Associate for the team, as well as a panel of four team members. Senior associate questions were typical "personality" questions, like "Tell me about a time you failed." Panel questions were technical in nature.

You start w/a basic phone screening that asked about your background, skills and interests. Next, you complete a timed one-hour writing assessment. You're able to select one out of about 5 scenarios. The in-person consisted of 3 30 min interviews assessing leadership, consulting and functional skills.

Like most of the interviews described here, the process was pretty straight forward and designed in a round robin style. There were four interviewers and each had an allotted time of 30 minutes to come in and speak with me. In my opinion, it was pretty smooth...no behavioral questions or "tell me about a time". Instead rather it was pretty much explain to me what you've done and how that can contribute to the team we're hiring for. Additionally, my interviewers wanted to make sure that you were a good match. For example, if you're not interesting in workforce planning and that's their main project type then obviously it wouldn't be a good match. The best advice I can offer is to (1) know your resume, and (2) ask lots of questions.

I was able to negotiate. During the initial phone interview, the recruiter asked about my range. I gave a $5K range, however that was before I did my research. During the offer phone call I mentioned I had done my research and asked if I could change my range. She was very receptive to me changing it and even said she would negotiate on my behalf...to which she did! Thus, I got exactly what I was looking for!

Two phone interviews with the recruiter, one with the client. Had to submit one writing sample. The interviews with the recruiter were much more laid back than with the client, naturally. The interview with the client was over the phone with more than one person. It was slightly disorganized but overall ok.

I talked to one of the booz allen reps at my college fair.. The rep was very cordial and seemed very interested and engaging. After applying thru their website. I received a call for a telephone interview. the interview lasted about 20 minutes and most of the questions asked seemed like background/general question. after a week I received a call for a 2nd interview at one of their offices downtown.. It was group interview and they were more interested in what I had to say than what they had to offer.. which kinda thru me off. Suffice, it to say it was a good learning experience.

I submitted my resume online and was contacted by one of their recruiters to come in a invitation only career day at their location in Herndon. As, I went there, I was seated in a large room with several other candidates seating on different tables. Two interviewers would come in and sit with each candidate for about half and hour and leave. This lasted for two hours with three teams interviewing me with some gap in between. As for the interview experience, it seemed not at all relevant to the position applied. Although, I have more of a mobile application development experience, I was interviewed by teams needing database programmers and web developers. What a complete waste of time.

Have had three interviews now with two different teams so far. Both teams conducted on site interviews combining one on one and group interviews. No real surprises and plenty of candid give and take about the firm's culture, business and prospects. Very collegial, but they also were pretty artful about inserting "real" interview questions into the discussion.
