I sent my resume to a recruiter online interested in recently separated military officers. I received a call from the recruiter and took part in an initial half hour phone screening. It covered basic experience, career goals, and some basic information. I was then invited to a career conference in McLean, VA. The conference consisted of several speakers followed by 3 hours of interviews with various teams. A few days later I received a call with an offer.

Get all you can on the first try. Once you are in it is hard to adjust. Very rough process with the recruiter this was.

the interview was a conference call with 4 different managers, one of them was a little late so I had to repeat half of the questions they asked me. They seemed very friendly and they were not trying to make me uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them, not even to say they were unable to give me the internship.

Brought in dozens of candidates, quick presentation, and then a series of interviews in large rooms with other candidates. Talked to one engineer for behavioral interview (who admitted he didn't know how to conduct a behavioral interview so we just walked about me resume) and another for a technical interview (who played dumb with every solution I gave him only to admit at the end that he was jerking me around to see what I said, and that I had the best solutions he'd seen that day). Fed us lunch and then sent us back to the airport.

Reason for Declining
Lack of respect for candidates, obviously didn't prepare interviewers, shady interviewing practices, and the company overview presentation made the company seem smarmy and shady. Big emphasis that the employees are there to make the company money, not for the company to help the employee. Luckily I had several offers so I didn't need to work someplace that treats you that way.

I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Arlington, VA (took 3 weeks)
Interviewed with multiple members of the team with the job opening including the Project Manager and Program Manager, a Senior Associate, and a peer. The interview lasted approximately two hours. The interview consisted of one on one meetings as well as multiple interviewers. They presented a timed exercise related to the job opening, but it was not a "make or break" exercise, rather a gauge of aptitude for the position.

The interview process was very similar to speed dating. Probably 20-30 candidates in one room each sitting at their own table. The interviewers would rotate from each table to talk with each candidate. It took maybe 3 hours. This was all after a phone interview to qualify for this round.

My friend referred me directly to the hiring manager and HR contacted me in one week for on-site interview. The on site interview is about 4 hrs long and I would say the interview questions were fair.
Later after i joined the company, I also participated the interview-hire process. Per the process, 3-4 people were required for each candidate and there was a key interviewer assigned. The key interviewer is responsible to write down the review and give the recommendation.
