Field Director Interview
The process took 3 days – interviewed at Boy Scouts of America in November 2010.
I was explained the position and the expectations, then offered a 15% increase over my current salary. I would be managing a group of 5 professional scouters in the areas of membership, fundraising and volunteer recruitment, basically what I was doing before. Since I was available for a transfer, I chose 4-5 cities where I wanted to move and waited for an offer, which came a few weeks later. I interviewed with the scout executive, director of field service and one of the board members.
For the salary offered, it was not the right moment to move my family from my current city to the new one.
