Interviewed Sep 2010 (took 3 weeks)
I applied for the role internally after hearing about it from a colleague. HR contacted me for the interview and had one face to face interview. As I was internally transferred, a second interview was deemed unnecessary. The hiring manager and HR Business Partner were present for the interview. The questions were not technical, more on leadership capabilities.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Rome (Italy) (took 2 months)
Started off online. You get some on line assessment: one for numerical logic and one for verbal reasoning. If you pass the threshold you get a competency based phone interview that lasts 45 minutes. If you pass the phone interview you get to go to an assessment centre at their expense in a fancy hotel around Europe (my case was Rome) for 2 days. Here they engage you in: a presentation of a business case, a 1:1 interview with the manager of the area you applied for, a group assessment about a fictional business case and a personality& creativity tests. There were 14 of us and they said that they received 6000 applications so I was pretty happy to have made it to that point!

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Warsaw (Poland) (took 2 weeks)
Started with an online numerical&analitycal test, rather standard- like SHL test.
Then a phone interview with UK (I am from Poland), there were some behavioural and general competency questions. This interview lasted about 45 minutes and there were about 90 seconds for each question. An interviewer expects concrete answers and examples.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 3 months)
The interview process usually takes up to 3 months (HR is very ineffective function in BAT). You will be asked to go through number of tests (some of them seem quite ridiculous and absurd). then you'll be asked to go through 5 or 6 interviews and in a few months you will hear from them....

I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Presentation, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Skills Test, a Personality Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Warsaw (Poland) (took 4+ weeks)
I must admit that I am disappointed with the recruitment process which is held by recruitment company GTIOS. They rejected my apllication twice - once after maths online test and secondly-after IQ test. Nevertheless, I made it to the telephone interview round. I had the interview last week and I'm still waiting for feedback.
As for the recruitment itself: first I applied online, than after a week I got invitation to online maths test (which was SHL test), then I got invitation to IQ test (also SHL) and then was a telephone interview. The interview consists of 3 parts:
1. questions about you motivation to work for BAT and being a part of Management Programme, they also check what you know about the company (I was asked about its main competitors and about international brands of BAT)
2. behavioral questions
3. questions connected with your chosen field (in my case in with finance)
Basically all of the questions I was asked can be found at glassdoor.com. They also asked about:
- economic situation in Portugal and ways to solve it.
- my salary expectations
- country I wouldn't like to work in

Received the offer of interview via email. Was flown down to their offices the following week. Had a panel interview with three staff, including the technology projects manager. The interview was split up into three parts. 1) Talk through your CV. 2) HR style questions (e.g Tell me about a time when....). 3) Technical questions.

Interviewed Aug 2010 (took a day)
Once selected for telephone interview you are informed that if successful you will be required to attend an all day assessment followed by a sample task (homework) being set that you must return several days later and spend an additional 1/2 day presenting your sample report/programme plan.
This therefore requires almost 2 full days away from your current employer just to apply for their job!
I was supposed to be interviewed by the Head of Programme Delivery but a junior person called me 10 minutes after the appointed time and attempted to interview me.
I particularly like his complaint about his laptop still running Win XP, I pointed out that most enterprises had declined to upgrade past XP due to stability issues and that there was now a clear move towards Windows 7.
"We are installing Windows 8!" he declared.
The feedback to the recruiter was that I was too senior and probably not technical enough.
I had a lucky escape I believe.
