Interviewed Aug 2011 in Bangalore (India) (took 2 days)
Broadcom had visited our campus on 13th august 2011.They were offering 2 job profiles a software profile and a hardware profile. They had seperate tests for both the profiles but were conducted simultaneously. The test for hardware profile mainly consisted questions on digital electronics, basics of analog and digital communication. For software profile the paper consisted of questions on probabilty, some mathematical puzzles and c programming. The paper was subjective type for software and simple c programs were asked. The paper for hardware was objective type though.
Next day people were shortlisted for interview based on test score.
They had two rounds of technical interview and the questions were mostly concentrated on fundamentals of wireless communication, coding theory,OFDM.I was asked about the projects which i had mentioned in the cv.The final round was the HR round which was a mere formality. They finally picked 7 people from our college and it was a good experience overall.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Richmond, BC (Canada) (took a day)
I was interviewed by three people.
They first went through my resume and asked about my projects, and asked me to explain the technical merits of each project. They also "tested" my programming knowledge whilst asking about my projects.
They then asked the typical technical programming questions, including pointer manipulations, bit manipulations etc. Hardware questions were also asked.
Overall positive experience and the interviewers were extremely positive and friendly.

Interviewed Jun 2010 (took a day)
The HR representative of the position called me about two days later I applied. He asked me about my availability and that was about it. He didn't really ask me anything about my resume. He scheduled me an interview at the end of the phone call.
The interview consisted of six 1:1 interviews. I interviewed with the director, managers, some employees that I would be working closely with and an intern. They were all one after the other, each about 15 min. They all pretty much asked me the same thing, about my resume, cover letter and some technical questions. Some seemed really busy and didn't ask that many questions. All of the interviewers are really nice and they didn't give me that "arrogant" attitude that some interviewers have when you get a technical question wrong. Overall a pleasant interview experience.
They called me about a week and a half to two weeks later. After I accepted the offer they ran a background check. It was just couple forms to fill out.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Cambridge, East of England, England (United Kingdom) (took 1 week)
There was an initial telephonic interview with the hiring manager which lasted for about 30 mins. At the end of the telephonic conversation, the hiring manager expressed his interest to meet me in person. A f2f interview was scheduled later that week.
The f2f interview lasted for about 5-6 hours happening over 4 rounds. It covered mostly the basics and stuff that has been mentioned in the CV. The C interview was tricky, but nothing too difficult. No group/panel interview.
Later that day, I had a chance to meet the HR person.

Negotiation Details
I was offered fairly quickly, within 2 days of the interview. I would say, I didn't negotiate properly, since it happened over phone. I wasn't successful in increasing the initial base offer, but managed to get a fairly decent relocation bonus.
My advise would be not to disclose your current salary during the negotiation phase. !!!

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 1 week)
First part of the process consisted of a 30-minute phone interview. Manager asked me to describe myself, educational goals and relevant knowledge/experience; questions were not terribly technical in this part.
Then, set up an afternoon of in-person interviews. They sent me an itinerary of 6 back-to-back interviews, 30 minutes each. I stayed in the same room while they came in one at a time.
At the in-person interview, a few non-technical questions about teamwork and co-operation skills. Mostly technical questions, varied from basic software theory, to giving me actual code to write/debug. Coding examples ranged from approximately 2nd to 3rd year college level.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Irvine, CA (took a day)
They contacted me via email, found my resume. I called them on my way home from a contract job I had in Holland for six months. Set up everything and flew out there for overnight. Was from 8am to 5:30pm all day, we did do lunch. I met with mostly managers of different groups. One girl knew a lot of the people I did at Teradyne. Did well I thought and the HR guy mentioned salary. So the 4 guys I was with at lunch, the leader of the team was very obnoxious and very full of himself. He made fun of a couple former interviewees in front of me and had some off-handed joke about how I better not be like that. He then went on to say his company was acquired by Broadcom and how great they were to have them. It was embarrassing really and I had no interest after that. The HR guy never even called me with a denial, letter, nothing. I thought that was pretty unprofessional and surprising people like these have a job at all.
