Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
Brown has a job site for students so I looked at the job posting and applied. I got an email back a couple of weeks later asking me what would be a good time to have a 1:1 interview. I met with the boss and she just explained what the job would entail and walked me through the process of scanning and what not. She then asked me what day I could start!

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Providence, RI (took a day)
We scheduled a face to face interview after a successful phone interview - but the interviewers didn't show up! Even worse, nobody would return my calls or emails looking for a reason, or a reschedule. Unbelievable! The phone interview went long, and was very pleasant. I spoke with two team members who were very nice, professional and eager to find the right fit for their team. We scheduled the live interview enthusiastically for the following week - to this day I have no idea what happened.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
Interview was very relaxed and there was no pressure. It was very conversational and more about understanding myself as a person.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Providence, RI (took 5 months)
This was the longest interview process I had ever experienced. I received a phone call a month after I had applied on-line. The 1st interview was a 30 min screening with HR and CIS. The questions were regarding my experience and background. After 3 weeks, a 2nd interview was on-site from 9-2 meeting with 3 groups of 2 managers at each interview, an hour break, and 1 hr lunch with some of the interviewers. Again, it was more experience questions- not hard. The 3rd interview came about 3 weeks later. I met 2 upper management at the same time. This one was less than an hour- this one was more situational. Mixed questions- experience and what if type of questions. About 3-4 weeks later came in to meet hiring manager again (very casual- she was telling me the great things at Brown) as well as a new panel of 3. Their questions were more situational. Unfortunately, after 4 interviews meeting 11 people, I didn't get the job (runner up). Everyone was very nice and it seems like a great place to work. My advice - keep positive, be patient with their process, and keep looking in between their interviews.

Interviewed Jul 2009 (took 4+ weeks)
phone interview first by one search member , and then followed by the on site interview with 6 faculty, on site tour and lunch and then individual short visit with different staff. Questions are not hard, it is more about the face-to-face to see who you are and to make sure you are the person with the same background they read and selected.

Interviewed May 2009 (took a day)
I interviewed with the director of alumni affairs and my future colleagues in that group. I was referred by a contact from my alma mater. After 4 one-on-one interviews, I had to write a letter to the class of 1969 on their 40th anniversary to encourage them to raise funds for Brown. During the interviews they wanted to know about my experience with fund raising. Didn't get any feedback as to why they didn't make an offer...
