Customer Delivery Teammate at CARQUEST

Accepted Offer – Reviewed May 8, 2013

Interview Details – Applyiedonline, waited to receive call from store manager, I was invited in for an interview 3 weeks later, and I received the job on the spot. Drug test was approximately a week after initial paperwork was filed. Interview was informal, but this will vary depending on manager. Do not expect this same process, make sure you have a clean background and clean driving record if you are applying for driving position.

Interview Question – Nothing. Will vary depending on manager's decisions.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I was offered more than I expected.

Customer Service Teammate at CARQUEST

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Romeoville, IL – Reviewed Feb 25, 2013

CARQUEST DELIVERY TEAMMATE at CARQUEST

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Beaumont, TX Jun 2011 – Reviewed Oct 15, 2012

Interview Details – I found the job on my university's hiring portal. The application instructions were to call the store manager and ask about the job (I guess it was first-come first-serve). I called the guy, he asked to come in for an interview (which was basically "When can you start?"). Drug test, background check, then first day. Nothing rigorous about it. The "real" interview is the 90-day period following the hire, where your performance is evaluated.

Interview Question – Making a delivery the first hour on the job with no training whatsoever.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – None. Basically I was told it was $8/hr or no go.

Setup Team Lead at CARQUEST

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Raleigh, NC Oct 2009 – Reviewed Aug 2, 2012

Interview Details – Apply online and then wait for as one employees up to 8 months before hearing anything back. Your best bet is to go to a store and try and get the manager to let you talk to his district manager. Very hard to get a call back without a foot in the door.
After you do get a call you will have a quick phone interview. You will be told all about the job available and what it will all entail. You will be asked very briefly about yourself and prior experience. If they want to pursue a second interview you will get another call saying they will fly you to the corprate office and you will meet with the department manager. Dress business casual clean cut and shaven. cover all tattoos and remove piercings. The interview will last about 30 minutes and most of it will be explaining every detail of the job. Things you will not remember one hour after the interview but do not be over whelmed. If you can read this review you can do the job. The man interviewing you is a very kind man and a good boss and he will take care of you if you get the job and while you are interviewing make sure to let him understand that you will take care of him by your hard work.

Interview Question – There were really no difficult questions. When he asks about thing that you might not know dont say I dont know. Let him know instead about things you didn't know in your previous job and how quickly you learned it and let him know this will not be different.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – You will get a contract saying you agree to work for such and such salary with these requirements but it is not really negotiable. You may be able to squeeze a few more dollars out but they have people lining up for this position. Only if you have a lot of experience in the field should you request more. Of course at this point the worst that would happen is they say no. Just dont say I cant work for that. Use more positive language.

Interview Details – I had a face-to-face interview, and I had to take a personality test. If you are hired you have to take a drug test. The interview was fairly easy, but the drug test took too long. The manager had to read from a paper for you to take the drug test.
