Interviewed Mar 2011 in Dallas, TX (took a day)
1st round of interviews on a college campus, more of a get to know you and your background session. General questions about interest in and commitment to commercial real estate. Also, the typical "give me a scenario where..." type questions. "How risky would you say you are, financially?"

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
Resume submitted through recruiting agency. Called and asked to travel for interview. Recruiting agency provided vague info, so did my own research into the company, but did not prepare me for the insight into the particular account I would be servicing.
Resume submitted Friday by recruiting agency, called on Monday to fly up on Wednesday, completed interview and was made verbal offer by Friday of same week. Accepted verbal offer Monday the next week.
Panel of 2 interview, but was more informational/discussion oriented with them discussing the position and me elaborating about skill sets that matched what they were describing. Discussed client/account, responsibilities on start up/new account.
I provided demonstrated stories that illustrated with factual numbers/statistics good examples of my responsibilities that translated to the demands of this particular job and also honestly spoke to areas that would be a challenge... areas I had not yet dealt with personally. Asked a few prying questions like how would I be evaluated, what metrics used, how bonus allocated based on performance, etc.
Amiable, well intentioned and enjoyable. Needless to say, grooming, dress, timing, presentability were impeccable. Copies of resume, references, etc were brought.
Interview Questions
This happened relatively early in the interview.
Negotiation Details
Offer was competitive. Spoke with several trusted agencies, was assured I should run, not walk and accept the offer. No agency could provide a similar position with scope of responsibility and comparable pay.
I had actually hired a transition/career coach for several thousand dollars that had assisted in my transition and he said, "in my 28 years in this profession, this is the worst economy I and job search time I have ever seen. If someone offers you a position, you should be grateful, take it and move on."
Once I was in the position, there was not necessarily a misrepresentation of my scope of responsibility, but let's just say it was significantly more than advertised and I should have asked for more. That being said, there is no shortage of regular work, hard work, rewarding work and my first position within this industry and I am happy to be here. Ultimately I will move up and get another position with more pay, so not worried about it.
So to recap... the company paid me a relocation bonus, a salary with bonus, and then had to pay a finder's fee to the agency. Apparently this position had been open for a while and they were unable to find a viable candidate and I fit just right :)

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
The job I applied for was a part-time position and when I had my phone interview the woman had no knowledge of a part-time position being posted online. She was very interested in me and wanted to bring me in for an interview but I told her I could not work the 40 hours at this time.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took 2 weeks)
I got through the first interview on campus grounds with a CBRE broker and another person from HR. If you got through, they will inform you about the second round of interview which is at the office site you'll be working at. Great working culture for those who loves aspects of sales/ marketing in real estate, or are entrepreneurial in nature. Always have the attitude of constant learning and challenging the status quo. CBRE employees take pride in what they do, and genuinely love doing what they do.

Negotiation Details
Have a good idea of what value you can offer to the company during the interview process. CBRE may not pay as much as competing companies, but once you're in, the company takes good care of you, work culture is great and there are opportunities to try out different departments.

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Memphis, TN (took 2 weeks)
The interview process was relatively quick and professional. The intitial phone call was received that my resume was being considered for interview. I did not receive a call back for that position. I received another call approximately 2 weeks later concerning an interview for another postion within the company and was contacted in 2 days to schedule the interview. The interview was conducted within 2 weeks and I received the offer 2 weeks later. I started the new career 2 1/2 later. The interview was well rounded and comfortable. The questions were professional and insightful. There was also an opportunity to ask the interviewer questions concerning the position and the company. I was also given a compentancy and skills test at the same time. I left the interview feeling confident and relaxed. The office personnel seemed to be working but not frustrated and the office environment seemed modern and efficient.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 1 week)
I got called in for an interview with a manager. I was asked about my experience in accounting, when in reality the job deals more with paperwork for leases. It also involves calls from the brokers for updates. There's also a math skills test and an actual hands-on file on a lease for verification. I was the third highest candidate, so I got called immediately for a second interview with my prospective trainer. The first highest candidate was ruled out. I got an email a week later stating that I was not chosen. I sent the manager a thank you letter.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 2 days)
After applying online I was contacted for a phone interview. I was asked the same cash vs. accrual accounting question mentioned on this site. After 45 minutes the interviewer was called away to a meeting and had to call back to finish with behavioral interview questions the next day. She was very pleasant but frank. At the end of the phone interview she told me I probably would not be called in for an in-person interview.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
Had phone interview that was fairly standard, mostly behavioral questions (ie: how I handled an ethical dilemma, teamwork situations, etc.)
In person interview came by invitation a month later, the interviewer was distracted the entire time, had clearly only looked at my resume for 30 seconds, and just asked me why I wanted to work there. It was pretty unprofessional and bizarre
