Interviewed Nov 2009 in Tukwila, WA (took 3 weeks)
Summary:
1. Required to submit an essay on 5 accounting standards and IFRS. The employer never reviewed it.
2. Participated in 3 interviews over the course of 2 weeks.
3. Was not hired, and no explanation provided.
4. I am fully qualified for the job and this was a huge and complete waste of my time. Stay away.
5. My observation is that they do not really understand the role from an accounting perspective and they have very poor leadership skills in general. Very evasive in the interview related to my tough questions of their leadership style and the goals and objectives that would be required of the position in the next 6 months.

Interviewed Apr 2008 (took 2 weeks)
This could be accurate for most. It was very easy going and your background and presentation will speak for itself. They were not overly formal and didn't have you waiting for weeks on end. If they need a position filled and you were called from all the millions of resumes received, you stand a good chance.
Negotiation Details
There was no room for negotiating, they have very fair salaries.

CBRE is friendly to existing employees. Start off as a temp somewhere within the company, and then transfer around to different teams.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 4 weeks)
Applied online. Contacted by HR for phone interview. Got recommendation for local staff to interview me. Interviewed with hiring manager and had a panel interview with client representatives. Positive perception of the people and corporate culture. Advice is to be patient. It is a large organziation and sometimes answers and steps toward an offer take longer than you expect.

Interviewed Jan 2009 (took 4+ weeks)
I just came in for one interview. It apparently didn't go very well. It seemed like the interviewer was doing me a favor and she couldn't actually tell me anything about any positions that were open. She was friendly but slightly conceited. Interview only took about twenty minutes before I was out of the interview office

Interviewed Aug 2007 in Dallas, TX (took 2 weeks)
I was very pleased and impressed when Linda from HR called right away asking me key questions and doing the phone screening prior to the actual interview and also she assisted with setting up the actual interview appointment. She was very helpful in answering all questions and guiding me through the process and she made me feel like part of the team from the very beginning. She forwarded all of the information and forms which I needed to complete after interview. Yolanda Smith-hiring manager, was one of the key reasons why I accepted the job because she has such a great personality and she makes you feel welcomed from the very beginning. She answered ll my questions and she even took the time to show me what the job and position was going to consist of and show me where I would be working at and these things were very important to me in making a decision. She also made me feel as part of the CBRE family from the day of the interview and this was very important to me. One always wants to work with a company who knows how to treat their employees and who makes their employees new or old feel right at home from the 1st day. I have never looked back-we are like a family.

Interviewed Jul 2007 in Birmingham, AL (took a day)
The position was discovered through a friend. I indicated my interest and the friend provided the email address of the hiring manager. I contacted the hiring manager via email, presenting my interest and my resume. The hiring manager contacted me via email to set up a 1:1, in person interview.
The interview was conducted at a local restaurant. I was interviewed by a Project Manager and a Senior Project Manager over lunch. The interview questions mostly focused on my experience in IT project management and how that would add value to the services offered by this particular CBRE office to its client, a regional bank. The interview lasted 45 minutes and was very informal.
In a few days, I received a phone call from the hiring Project Manager with an offer for employment. The initial interview process was quick, easy and painless.
After accepting the offer, the Human Resources manager took over and requested personal details in order to run a background security check. A drug test was scheduled with a third-party vendor (off site). The secondary phase of the hiring process was handled smoothly and professionally.
