Interviewed Mar 2011 in Plano, TX (took 2 weeks)
Received an email notice from a previous colleague who was now the boss. Recruiter had phone interview where I was asked to name a salary range. Although they were reluctant, I was surprised and HAPPY that they met my offer. Then two weeks later had a one on one interview with the local manager. This went very well, and it was like rejoining a family since they were all very supportive.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Portland, OR (took 1 week)
My initial interview was a phone interview with a recruiter. It was brief and only confirmed my experience. My next interview was a phone interview with a person who eventually became my manager. It was a fairly simple skills test. The next interview was with a panel of 3 people. They asked some technical questions and several behavioral questions. It was not a difficult interview. I was later told that 2/3 wanted to hire me, and since the hiring manager was in favor, an offer was extended.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 4 days)
Just used a bunch of technical jargon and said how I was a team player. Answered the old What is your greatest strength/weakness question. Easy to get in. The problem is that they were desperate to hire people because of turnover and a lack of very skilled people in the area. I wish I knew before taking the job.

Negotiation Details
Basically there was hardly any negotiation no matter how much experience you have. They only pay on what is assigned to a job description. They won't pay extra for experience.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Mar 2009 (took a day)
A CDI recruiter contacted me based on an application I submitted in the web. The recruiter asked me a few questions about my background. He then asked about my salary requirements. After responding with my salary request, the recruiter told me that exceeded the maximum for the job and told me the maximum salary for the job. I said that would be acceptable IF I was paid for job related travel. The recruiter could not assure me that I would be paid for travel time and refused to contact the hiring company to determine if I could be paid for travel. The end result was I told the recruiter I am not interested in the job unless he could answer my questions.
