I applied online. The process took 3 months - interviewed at CEB in February 2014.

    Interview Details

I had a phone interview with HR and felt is was very scripted. She was clearly reading and doing it at a extremely fast speed. So fast that I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. The interviewer also stated that I would hear back if I was to, receive a face-to-face or if they were going to pass on me. It's been almost three weeks. I decided that if I were to get an offer, I would decline.

    Interview Questions
    • The questions were not difficult at all, in fact, I feel the only question asked was; what have you done with your past/current employer that you are proud of? It was mostly reviewing my resume.   Answer Question

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at CEB in February 2011.

3 interviews: 1 on the phone with HR, and 2 in person. The phone interview is to filter any of those who thought they were applying for something else. The two in person interviews were to meet the manager of the position and then the senior level. I've had it so that there was one person for half the time and then another for the other half, and where both are in there the full time.

    Research Analyst Interview

Behavioral interview and case interview, both of which lasted about an hour. The behavioral interview questions they asked matched the samples I found on their site pretty closely, and the case was one that I think they'd re-used from a previous year so I think they don't change very often.

    Interview Questions
    • I stumbled on questions about process improvements and leadership in previous positions. They're definitely looking for a task-action-result format in answers to their questions. The case was relatively straightforward, but you have to ask a lot of questions to get all the relevant info, though they'll give you a lot of it. Be ready to do long multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction by hand during the interview.   Answer Question

Although I am currently a senior at my university, I missed the hiring period for my school so I applied online after their deadline. This was not an issue. A recruiter emailed me within a week of my submission and we set up a time to do a phone interview about a week after. The phone interview was a rundown of my history and basic behavioral questions- nothing out of the ordinary. You will need to take a personality test and a reading comprehension test. This went well and I was invited to attend a final round with about 15 other applicants in Arlington about a month later. They put me up in a hotel the night before and we arrived early and had about three hours in the morning dedicated to presentations about the company. You can almost go into this day not knowing anything about the company. After lunch, you will sit in a 45 minute interview with two managers and they will ask you to give a run-down of your resume and ask you three basic behavioral questions- no case, nothing tricky. Following this you will shadow a BDA for about half an hour and then leave. Pretty simple day that went by quickly.

    Interview Questions
    • I would make sure you are familiar with CEB's challenger sales approach. This was a big portion of what they talked about. The behavioral questions are pretty standard with everywhere I've interviewed, just make sure you know yourself and have good examples from your experience. Follow the CAR model in telling your answers (Circumstance, Action, Result) and you should be fine.   Answer Question

I had two interviews. The first was over the phone with someone in the recruiting department. They called and set up a time to talk within a week of me submitting my resume online. The interviewer was smart and enthusiastic and indicated that she would contact me again if I would be considered for the position. I received a call and came into the office for a second interview. I met with two different people at the interview. They were both very intelligent and prepared. They asked a lot of thought provoking questions and were definitely focused on the behavioral based interview.

    Interview Questions
    • They asked me a question about what was the best class I took during college. That threw me off because at the time I had been out of school for over a year and had another job before interviewing for this one and did not anticipate many questions about it.   Answer Question

They offered me a "moving bonus" which helped encourage me to accept this position at the time.
