    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at CEP America in May 2015.

    Interview

I submitted an application through the school's career center. Took about 5 weeks for them to get back to me with a phone interview. Phone interview was done by the HR person and he asked me very basic questions such as are you afraid of blood, etc. 1 day after the phone interview, I was contacted by the lead scribe at the hospital to set up a time for an on-site interview. She was very nice and was around my age, so it gave me some room to breathe. She asked me basic interview questions like why do you want to become a scribe, how do you deal with time-constraints, etc. Then she gave me 4 behavioral cases about what a scribe should do in certain scenarios. They notified me that I got hired 2 days after the on-site interview.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CEP America (San Jose, CA) in June 2014.

    Interview

Online application consisting of typing speed and behavioral questions. Phone interview with managing physician regarding your interests, future plans, and availability. Then typical STAR type questions proctored by a "senior" scribe (in parenthesis because senior only implies >1 yr). They are mostly looking for people with good availability and are on their way to a job in allied health, so be available and be working towards something something medicine.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CEP America (Davis, CA) in March 2014.

    Interview

I applied on their website to the hospital I wanted to work at and got a call in about a week to set up a phone interview. The phone interview ended up taking about 30 minutes, with maybe 15 questions requiring pretty detailed answers. But after that I got a call in a few days to set up the in-person interview with the lead ED physician that you'll be working with. The in-person interview was much more laid back. It took about an hour but only because we casually toured the hospital grounds and talked about a lot of things, not necessarily pertaining to the job, but often pertaining to why you want to ultimately work in the medical field.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult questions are probably the ones where they ask how you fixed a difficult situation. I swear she asked me that 3 different ways.   Answer Question
