Interviewed Apr 2010 in Washington, DC (took a day)
Typical half hour college interview with a bunch of personality questions. I wasn't graduating for another year so I was told that there will be no offer coming from that interview. However I recently got a call asking me to come for a follow up this semester. The interview was pretty easy with basic personality questions asking to describe obstacles, difficult coworkers, leadership experience, and free time activities. I was also allowed to ask questions about the company and how i would fit into it since I don't have much (basically none) programming experience. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the interview was in the form of a conversational rather than interrogation. At the end I was asked if I had any closing remarks about anything on my resume or transcript - a gesture I appreciated because I did want to clarify a few points.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Fairfax, VA (took a day)
Excellent interview experience. For my second round of interviews that were held on campus, I had the opportunity to meet and interview with 5 different people. Two of the interviews were sort of technical which is where I excelled the most.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Fairfax, VA (took 2 weeks)
They were very organized on the HR side - they did a very good job scheduling and coordinating. I liked everyone I met - I think I met with 4-5 different people on site at 2 different sessions, plus the prior phone screen. They seemed very team oriented; management seemed to be fair and reasonable.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Fairfax, VA (took 2 weeks)
Interview on campus, then phone interview with an HR recruiter. They then paid for me to travel to their office, and had a 3-4 hour session, including a tour of the building, and 3 1:1 interviews. I'm an incredibly confident interviewer and was actually surprised how easy the interviews were- technical questions were simple, interviewers were generally nice (too easy, asking generic questions) but the more technical ones barely spoke english and were much to awkward to be talking.

Reason for Declining
A similar offer from a smaller company, one with much better ratings online.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Fairfax, VA (took 4+ weeks)
I was first contacted by one recruiter based on an upcoming project that he thought I'd be a good fit for. I hadn't applied to anything prior, the organization found my information online. I subsequently interviewed for an opportunity within, but not necessarily the specific opportunity I was initially contacted about. Their process is to speak with you & determine where you might be a good fit within the organization. Thus, you might not be certain of exactly what opportunity may be offered to you until they make a decicsion. After attending an orientation session & completing three individual interviews, it was determined, I wasn't a good fit for the initial opportunity even though they felt I interviewed well. CGI subsequently marketed my resume around the current projects to see which would 'bite.' Another opportunity was found, but it was a lateral opportuniy based on my current employment.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
It was a lateral opportunity that I wasn't seeking, nor what was initially communciated to me. Additionally, although, they said the offer was negotiable, it really wasn't. Once I advised of my areas of concern with the offer, the recruiter in charge said she would check internally to see what she could do & get back to me. However, she never did. We spoke about the benefits which was communicated to be non-negotiable & I never got a true answer on whether the base salary was negotiable at all. I was never given the opportunity to place another number on the table. It felt as though the 'negotiaion' process was a facade & patronizing.

I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Fairfax, VA (took a day)
I had previously applied for this job listing, but put a salary range in closer to what I was currently earning. I did not receive a response. About 2-3 months later, I came across the posting again and applied for it again, this time entering a lower salary. I got the interview this time. You can never be sure, of course, with how candidates are selected, but I was suspicious that they were looking to fill at a relatively low cost.
The HR person emailed me and set up a screening interview via phone with her. Typical stuff, though there was one of those awkward "company culture" type of questions - something to the effect of "What are your 3 most important things?". I asked for clarification, but she (half-heartedly) said they leave it open-ended on purpose. I think she thought it was pretty pointless, too.
I was subsequently invited to interview with the development team. I was scheduled to speak with 4 people - group manager, project manager, technical manager, and team member. As it turned out, only the PM was in the office. The other 3 I spoke to via phone. This particular CGI team had many remote members, meaning I would be able to work from home (a good thing).
I thought the interview went pretty well. The people seemed to like working for CGI. A recurrent theme they kept bringing up was the flexibility of the company - work location, hours, work-life balance, etc. The benefits were typical for a large company - I don't recall anything that stood out either way.
As far as the job itself, it was clear that I was over-qualified for the position. I'm pretty certain this was their thinking, too. We never discussed salary, but I doubted that it would be in the range I was seeking.
The HR person sent me an email the next week saying that they had actually decided to close the position for the time being. My guess is that it was kind of a "luxury" position - they could have used another set of hands on the project, but only if they could get someone competent at a bargain price.
I responded by thanking the HR person for the time and if there was any constructive feedback from those that interviewed me. I never received a response, which I didn't think was terribly professional. I certainly wasn't expecting her to send me back a lengthy and thorough analysis, but even a minimal acknowledgement (a sentence or two) would have been more appropriate.
