Saw a position posted and sent email to hiring executive. Spoke with my immediate boss. Heard nothing back from the hiring executive who I knew personally; no phone call, nor email, nothing. Did not give up and went to networking mode and contacted his boss (alumnus of same school). Lots of gladhanding but no real action. I eventually left the company.

I first met with the Area Director. He aksed me a series of typical interview questions (ie "tell me about yourself", "describe your strengths", "what are your weaknesses"). Next I interviewed with one of the senior consultants who had been working with the client for a few years. This was mostly a technical interview to test my skills and find out my thought process for solving tough problems. If you are going in for a business intelligence related interview, make sure you know ALL there is to know about the data warehouse life cycle, SQL query skills, functions, and ETL processes & lingo.

I had a telephone interview for a Project Management position. This was the most thorough interview process/questions that I have had.
You must be able to answer questions around how you managed risk, scope creep, and using MS Project. Ther person will ask you details and will be able to know if you are telling the truth!
